What Now

I'm pretty concerned that if the KINGS continue to lose games that they should win, it will come back to haunt them come playoff time. I remember the last 2 years not having the home court advantage in a game 7 and losing. Just a couple wins here and there instead of losses (games we should have won but didn't), could have really helped this team in the last 2 PO.

If we don't get a top 4 seed in the West, we could be bounced in the first round. I know it's December but Phoenix isn't getting any worse yet. I think the KINGS better not think they can sleepwalk through the season just to turn it on come playoff time. Unfortunately, this seems to be the case (AGAIN). This team has a serious case of mental meltdowns at the worst of times. It's just frustrating to watch them lately. No lead is safe. 20 point lead going into the 4th quarter against a decent team? These are the Kings, and if there shots stop falling the bottom drops out because they won't play defense. I think this team needs a good injection of intensity for 4 quarters every darn night.

We all know that these guys can play with a better consistent effort (we've seen it). It's unfair to the fans when these guys decide to play half arsed. They should give 100% effort every time they hit that floor. If the effort and energy is there and they lose, that's fine. But when they don't give that effort consistently, then people have a right to be disappointed and let down. Watching a very skilled and veteran team not playing up to it's potential night in and night out is bogus.

We have a 7 man rotation at the moment. In such case it makes no difference to experiment.

At PG You ave one option.

At SF you have one option.

At SG You have one option.

So You can rotate 3 players at PF and 3 players at C

Makes no difference
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

What You can do is give more PT to player who is doing well on the floor at a particular moment of the game. Regardless who he is playing for.

Also Bibby needs to get JWill treatement more often.
You are right. We have 4 players that we are somewhat comfortable with for the two person PF/C slots. But we only have 3 players for the the other 3 positions. Once again we are gonna see just HOW MUCH we need Bjax. we have ZERO back-court flexibility.

I also agree that Bibby needs to get shaken up. He is too damn complascent right now. And what REALLY tees me off about that situation was the time he practiced with the national team. Remember, he played D, and said something to the effect of "I can play D when I have to...". However, who the hell do you shake him up with? Are you gonna try to convince him that if he doesn't fly straight then one of the rooks is gonna get his time? We NNED some flexibility there. some sort of dependable vet, ala jb (jon barry) or Damon Jones from our past. He doesnt have to be special, just dependable.

You need to include Mo Evans, IMHO... Since Bobby's injury, he has stepped up and is already showing why Petrie got him.

Cant you see folks...what we have in place now...as a team...isnt good enough to get to that next level, and unless something happens, we can be happy enough with mediocrity, and have fun losing in the 1st or second round of the playoffs, and look forward to being back in the lottery in 3 or 4 years. But who knows, maybe the NEXT great Kings team will win us a title...whatever decade or century THAT will be in. Look how long it took us to rise from the toilets of the NBA standards to get where we are now. Joe and Gavin need to take a long, hard look at what they have now...and what they ALMOST would have if they looked at the bigger NBA picture. But hey, at least they arent the only young NBA owners without a title after putting blood, sweat, and tears in to their team...Mark Cuban has nothing to show yet, either.

1) Winning 50+ games isn't medicority by any rational standard. The ONLY thing it is not is a championship guarantee.

2) And the instant you start breaking up the core of this team you have ALREADY moved on to the next team, whatever that may look like.

Windows, schmindows. Since the bleeping window of opportunity is closed, can't we just use the door? It would be much easier to fit the whole team through anyway. Somehow, I really can't see us being able to push Tag through anything other than a very LARGE window anyway.

Euphemisms. It's not about windows - or doors. It's about winning the right games at the right time. It's about a group of professional athletes who HAVE the ability putting it together at the proper time.

I think I'll wait a little longer than DECEMBER to decide this team is mired in mediocrity if it's all the same to you.

It's not like one of us has to be the first one to declare it or something, is it?

Okay, this door is locked...and we're on the other side of it...who holds the key???
The team holds the key. They have always held the key. Maybe if they hadn't been trying to get in throught the darn window all this time, they would have realized it by now;)

Time will only tell, I know...and this season still is very young, but unless we get a MAJOR shot of adrenaline, and soon, we'll be no better than we are at the moment. Winning 50 or so games a season is cool and all...but you dont see the Utah Jazz fans having anything to talk smack about either...they never won the big ones either. Well, at least they MADE it to the Finals.

Okay I give up....

I think we should fire RA, Get rid of all the starters, Let Tag, MO ( :) FOR U VF) Flash, Songaila and Barnes start.

Then it’s all good right?

Honestly I wonder how much the media is influencing this backlash these past 2 years. I mean specifically the local sports radio and print. Monty this morning on the Rise Guys just sounded like a fool. Problem is people listen and feed off them.

We all want a championship but only 1 team can win a year. You need a lot of luck with injuries (or lack of) and luck with just your players hitting their peak at the right time in the season. Then there is all that other stuff.

There is no miracle coach, player or strategy that is going to win us the title this year. If we do it, it will be because of our starters.

We see these trade him, fire him threads on every loss and it makes no sense.

I was really upset at the Miami game because they all played great. I wasn’t so upset last night because the Kings didn’t deserve it.

Rambling on now.

I SAY GO KINGS V10.0 full release is due.

word.

Peace, out.

I'll bleed purple just like I bled red and blue, until the day I die, but dammit, I dont want to wait till I'm 100 to see us win a title. I want to be young enough to party in the streets when we do. Closest thing I've had to that was Game 5 in 2002 WCF. Wow, memories!

I think that is the simple truth of the matter. And in the end that may mean we won't make it. But we're kind of committed at this point. All the money is committed to the starters. The style of play is designed around the starters. Our cohesiveness and chemistry is in the starters, as is nearly all of our playoff experience (Tag obviously has a lot).

Barring a miracle trade where we trade for a significant upgrade to one of starters midseason (extremely difficult), we kind of our who we are.

The is PLENTY of time to blow this thing up in the offseason. I fully expect it in fact if we don't make it over the hump this time. Our coach has no contract, half of our core will be entering their final year of theirs, age is creeping up on certain guys. But it makes no sense to blow the team up midseason -- we are not THAT far away and we've got a bunch of guys who have been close before.

I think thats what I've been saying the last year or so. Including in posts on this board. Ah, well...more ponderances.

I agree with every single thing you just said.

The Kings got better on defense when they added two defensive players in the off-season with Bojax and Christie.

Well seasons have passed since then and those two have gotten older. Meanwhile, nearly every King has gotten worse on defense except Peja.

More or less sums it up.

Damn, and to think...we should have traded for Ron Artest.*L* He would have helped out ALOT this year, wouldnt he?? Too bad he's mental, he is the best defender in the game. We need to find someone like him, or someone that will defend like Michael Cooper in his prime. Probably wont be this season...or next. Man, too bad Jim Jackson...ah, nevermind.
