We kept Gerald Wallace protected and left another player unprotected that year (maybe Webber because of his knee????????)

WHAT IF?

Yeah, okay. I get it.

What if VF21 had never started the stupid revisiting 2003-2004 thread...

LOL this has nothing to do with the thread you started, so dont worry about that. I just thought I would throw it out there and see what people think about it...

I think I"ll go to a different thread. Isn't there enough to talk about right now with this kings team to not bring up G Wallace?

we've been there and done that... i know that i have several times.. including vf21's last thread. the "what if" threads are fun but now is not the time. wallace is a good player but petrie has burned too many bridges with former players.... wallace being one of them. i wouldve loved to see martin and wallace play together but thats not gonna happen.

Wow this question has only been asked 30 times since that happened. do we really need to go through it again? search the archives.

Posters with thousands of posts were a little more open to participation by newer members? If you are tired of the subject, move on to something else.

In my opinion, Adelman wasn't playing Wallace anyway, so what difference would it make. I was happy for him that he was able to go to a team that let him showcase his talent.

Just to present the other side... What if new members took a bit of time and read some of the threads in the archives to get a feel for what had been being discussed?

I'm not discouraging this OP or anyone else but when a topic has been pretty thoroughly under discussion recently it's highly likely there won't be too much activity a second time around.

By saying a topic had been recently discussed, I think sometimes it's actually informative to the new member, who then doesn't feel as though he's just being ignored.

all the what if situations coming out....This one possibility still stings to some probably.. what if Vlade didnt tip that ball to you know who..

What if the NBA had instant replay and that Samaki Walker three didn't count in game 4?

What if the refs called game 6 fairly?

What if the Kings didn't miss all those free throws in game 7...

Too many what if's. All we can do is look to the future. The past hurts too much, man.

Then this would be some insane, oppositeland Kingsfans where the rules are totally reversed. Good luck with that one, friend. Its not gonna happen.

(my contribution....let's keep this thread going...What if there really was an opposite day holiday? What an awesome holiday that would be. Okay...that's stupid.)

What if chickens chewed tobacco & snakes had shoulders?

that would be awesome... but i hope that the chickens can smoke instead of chew so i can smoke a newport with them instead of watching spit all of the time.

What if disgruntled PBPs didn't masquerade as new posters, and manufacture straw men to pick fights?

Alternatively, what if legitimately new posters understood the difference between being discouraged from participating and being encouraged to read some of the older threads before starting new threads to re-hash discussions that have already been beaten to death a half-dozen times?

I find this particular "what if.." to be irrelevant. It is known by many that the series was fixed for the Lakers to win. Any specific outcome of a play didnt matter. The league saw to it that the Lakers won. How anyone could be a fan of a team that the league fixes championships for is beyond me. Scum, all of them.

What if I could change my screen name to more closely fit my gender, seeing as how my wife doesn't use this account. Or maybe I should just stop being a bum and open my own....

Oh, this thread is fun!

What if the new poster has in fact read some of the old posts on the topic he or she is starting a thread on?

What if people realized that some posters, new or otherwise, have their own opinions to add to conversations and may not be satisfied with the discussions that have gone on in the past?

How about what if mods didn't feel compelled keep track of past members' IP's because of the constant alienation of new members and the desire to try and nail one who is trying to start over?

What if this board was anonymous?

What if we all just got along?

Man, these sure are some wild scenarios.

Because historically those signing on with old IPs aren't "starting over," they are old "pains in the @**" who are trying to get in and cause more trouble after being booted the first (or one of many) times. And we don't need to tolerate that. If you can't control yourself, you get shown the door. And we are typically pretty leanient on the first couple offenses for minor stuff.

New members are encouraged to post - we love new blood! We even have a separate thread to welcome them all. We just want posters to follow the rules.

I'm sure I've missed something here. What is a PBP? Are you trying to imply I am not who I say I am? What constitutes legitimacy on this site, and are you the one who decides? So many questions, so little time...

I am not not trying to pick a fight. I was just trying to remind senior members to be a little more forgiving to us newbs for our occasional faux pas. Anyway, everyone seems to be having much fun with this topic!
