He was part of the culture that got the grizzlies to be the talk of the town last season. Sure he over did it this year but we need a lil something. Funny people talk about his shooting and completly ignore how bad davon has been on that end

difference is Davion doesn’t start or openly complain about his role. Having said that, I think he will have some success next year but I believe it will be with another team

He’s also sort of regressed the last two seasons and is a bad shooter and likes to take a lot of shots. Not a good fit with our offense.

With respect, I'm not sure drafting Kris Murray would be the greatest fit. For obvious reasons, he seems to be a bit repetitive of the Keegan skillset. Assuming we don't just simply go with best available talent in the draft, I'd rather we go with size or athletic wing 3 and d at that spot.

If he's the best player available, I'd draft him. Let him play one season or so with his brother, then see if you can move one of them for a player who provides something different. This was my thought in the draft thread...
If the Kings were to draft Kris Murray as best player available....and he looks like he's lets say 85-90% of the NBA player that his brother is at a future point in time, would you then consider trading Keegan for a player that you believe turns the Kings into a real contender?
I have a hard time picturing getting the most out of the Murray twins on the same NBA team, for more than 1 season together.
Maybe not a popular feel good move initially,... but trading Haliburton probably wasn't either

I completely agree. If he's the best player available, I'm fine with that, but I'm not really all that excited about getting Kris just so we can say we have both Murray brothers. Seems somewhat like a gimmick.... Much like when the Morris twins were both on the Suns, it's just an obvious duplication of skillset. Now one is most likely going to have a better career than the other, but they ultimately serve a similar purpose on the team. I just don't see don't see the long term logic. If you draft Kris and he ends up just as good or only slightly worse than Keegan, then yes your best player available approach pays off and you look to move one long term.

Skynet was right. Daddy Sabonis is the best from that list, which is saying something.
Think so? His stats weren't as impressive as I thought but scoring was much different back then.

Other than Olajuwon, probably the best at standing toe-to-toe with Shaq. Always a presence.
His best years were in Europe. Not sure if the stats you were looking at included those years. When he got here he was already going down hill(his knees were shot).
He's arguably one of the best basketball players ever.
Having not watched one minute of Kris, are their skillsets indeed duplicative? I thought they played different in college (from what I'd heard/read), and they may complement each other well on the same team. Keegan starts and Kris is the bench guy coming in and possibly even playing the two together may work. I'll leave it up to our FO to make the decision, but I wouldn't be so quick to discount the possibility.

they’re not sitting at home because their opponent’s two best players had their knees explode. If Steph and Klay both suffered catastrophic lower body injuries before or during our series, we’d probably be playing in the second round too.

on a base level they’re identical twins so sure they’re redundant but they’re not quite the same as players. They shoot with different hands and and have slightly different skill sets. Keegan is also the stronger of the two brothers while Kris is probably a little quicker (I’d say Keegan is more of a 4/3 while Kris is a 3/4 if that makes sense). Also Kris has a personality.
Uhh, 6'9 3/4 flex wing that's an elite shooter and has some defensive versatility. We don't want more of those on the Kings?
Interestingly enough, I think Kris Murray profiles a lot like rookie Keegan played; off-ball shooter, good cutter, little quicker on the wing, I think a little smaller weight wise? I think it'd be an outstanding fit if you could plug Kris into that role while giving Keegan a bigger on-ball scoring role in the similar vein to what Barnes has been doing for us. Start utilizing that interior game more.

If we bring back Barnes or replace him, bring back Trey, bring over Sasha and draft Kris where does he get minutes?
Outside of back-up C, what other rookie would we be able to pencil in minutes right away anyway? No rookie guards are leap-frogging any of the top 4 either.

I’d argue a guard could get TDs minutes assuming he finds a bigger role elsewhere.
I would be happy drafting Kris, I’d just be really interested to see how Mike can maximize Trey, Sasha and him at the same time. If we do that, I could be convinced to start Trey in place of Barnes and then use the cash on a defender/rebounder with size that could give us a different look when the offense isn’t clicking. Trey has some of the better advanced stats and has length, maybe we are overlooking him for the starting unit (that is unless we have a major swing or signing coming)
