What happened?

Just want to hear others thoughts...I thought we should have continued to go big against them (Shareef). Anyhow, we just gave that one away.

well, Suns kinda took it away so give them some credit for not missing a shot in the 2nd half

What happened? Phoenix showed that their shooters are still a force to be reckoned with.

we went smaller and couldn't score...and somehow played worse defense? Martin at 2, Bonzi at three, and Artest at three just doesn't work.

What happened?

For the 2nd half the Kings played 4 on 5. Kevin Martin had the best seat in the whole arena to see the game. Thanks for showing up to make one shot, Kevin.

Ron Artest thought he was Peja. Even after going 0 for 4 at the 3pt line, he decided to try it again. 0-5.

Rick Adelman decided that the King's didn't need a power forward in the 4th quarter so there was no SAR or KT on the floor. What happened to all those extra 4s that the Kings have?

The whole team played at half speed in the 3rd so they only scored half as many points, only 16.

Kings couldn't rotate to cover parimeter shooter when the Suns would penetrate and kick. Suns shot 55% at the 3pt line as a result.

Didn't play like we did in the 1st half. They got rolling but we didn't have any composure, and didn't put up a fight in the second.

Adelman thought kmart was going to show up. Leaving him w/ bonzi and artest makes sense against Phoenix's lineup...just didn't work. Our main problem is we have too many post players- Reef, Bonz, and Test. Too put them on the floor all at once would clog up the lane. So whoever we put in their place (KT, Kmart, Garcia) has got to shoot well to open up space. They didn't produce tonight, proving these three guys have to be our weakest link.

You might want to ask Rick on what happened tonight. Apparently Garcia and Martin were more important to him in the 2nd half after Reef was crushed the Suns in the 1st half.

Once again, we find out the hard way that NO LEAD is safe.

Going to the bench, except for SAR, was a disaster. Kenny Thomas actually cost us at least 8 points. Kevin and Cisco couldn't seem to get much started. Hart at least didn't kill us.

My guess is that with as strong a first half as we had, Adelman was hoping to be able to experiment a little with the rotations, to see what combos might work against Phoenix. Unfortunately, as seems to happen more often than not, as soon as he started to tinker things went to hell in a handcart.

I laugh back at my excitement after the 1st half. I thought we had the game controlled but what a fool of me to think that. Oh well i guess i just have to move on.

And I really hope Rick sits down and looks over the rotations that he set in the 2nd half.

this is unacceptable for the playoffs. this kind of play once up by 18 cannot happen no matter how good the team is

I can't believe we lost. I went to sleep happy with a 17 point lead, confident it would increase to the 20's easily. I look at the final score at NBA.com and stare at it for a full 5 minutes. I hate this, this game was ours. Now my whole day is going to be ruined and im going to be in a BAD mood.

That's what happens when you try to match up with the other team instead of making them match up with you :(

They're potent, aren't they? They put constant pressure on a team with their spacing and all the guys who can hit treys.

They are potent - the reason they are potent is the exact reason you can never compare Bibby and Nash.

Nash breaks a team down and finds the open player or score. Bibby breaks his man down and tries to score only.

Nash and Diaw make that team work. They are both potent assist makers.

We've got Bibby, who can score in buckets, but I don't believe he really makes people better the way that Nash or Diaw can. Brad Miller is our top assist guy, but he doesn't really make people better because he isn't really creating like a Nash or Diaw.

For the most part, our offensive style creates our assists, not our players. In Phoenix, it's their players that create assists through the offense.

what a terrible thing.

i fell asleep listening to the game on sirius at the half. (east coast here)

i also don't have the internet cuz my computer at home is down.

so i had to wait til work this morning to be so disapointed.

Me too. I couldn't watch the whole game, and left happy, thinking 'oh well, we have this one in the bag anyway'. Got quite a shock when I came to work this morning and heard my co-worker complaining about how the Kings gave it up!

Bibby is not as good as Nash, but this statement is just flat out ridiculous. For this to be true, we would never see Bibby pass.

Iverson passes too.

I saw the score at half time and I was happy, then thought to myself...

"Hmm that would be funny if they got blown out in the second half" *not funny haha but funny in a bad way*

So I look at the final score and I was shocked, I didn't think it would actually happen!

Problem?
1st Q - Bibby is red hot, that open up the post. We win
2nd Q - No Nash, no Ron, no Wells. Reef is red hot in the post(since no other post player in the game)to keep us going, ball is moving well with Miller and Reef passing well.
3rd Q - Ron and Wells 2 man show, did they ever pass? As least Miller is driving.
4th Q - See above. Miller/Bibby/Reef(late in the 4th) got the best seat for the show.

Mike makes Brad better, and Brad makes Mike better. Also, Nash plays with much better athletes/finnishers than Mike does or has played with. I'm not suggesting that Mike is a better passer/playmaker than Nash (even though Mike usually kills dude in the playoffs) because that would be ridiculous, but Mike did average 8 assists in Vancouver playing with reef and 10 guys who aren't even in the league anymore. The guy can obviously pass the rock. His low assist average (for a pg) is only because we run so much of our offense through brad. If i recall correctly, when brad missed the last 20 or so games last season, Mike's assist numbers were around 8.
