Seattle's started to quietly fall back to the pack. Course doesn't help us much -- the team we need to slowdown is the Suns, and they are much more for real.
They have? The last time I checked, they still led their division by six games. I suppose Minnesota or Utah could go on a huge run to retake the division... but they probably won't.
Personally, I think there are two far more interesting "What do you know" moments:
1) For all the talk about how the Southwest Division was going to be the best in the entire league (and that may yet prove to be true, as time goes on), if the season were to end tonight, half of the teams to make the playoffs in the Western Conference would come from the Pacific Division.
2) Richard Hamilton apparently led his team in scoring tonight against Memphis... without the benefit of a single successful field goal. That's got to set some kind of precedent.

Memphis taking a lower rung in the west may well knock the Lakers out. I don't consider the Grizz a real threat to the Kings and it is good to see that Detroit may not be either. Besides I sort of like the Grizz... warm fuzzy and J Will is lots more fun to watch when he is NOT jacking up 3's in Arco.

So? The Lakers aren't really a threat to the Kings, either. Hell, the Grizzlies and Lakers are practically carbon copies of each other, except that the Lakers best player than the Grizzlies' best player.

Feh; I haven't liked Williams since his rookie season, and I'm not likely to change my mind. The only player I like on the Grizzlies is Battier... I'd much rather root for the Bobcats.

Because to me seeing Detroit lose is as good as watching Twolves fall.

Seattle's 6-5 over its last 11 games, and is starting to lose to middling teams. They are retreating pretty fast actually, just benefitting from having the rest of their division in freefall with them. If we or Dallas were in their division we'd be breathing down their necks. Looks like they are coming back to a more reasonable level. Who knows whether they hold on and win the division or not, but they aren't racing away with the other elite teams anymore.
I root for Detroit to lose too. They better shape up or its one and done for them. All good for us -- fewer elite teams floating around the better. Want Detroit to have a healthy pile of doubts piled up long before May rolls around.
