What are your thoughts on Kyle Kover?

If we were ever to get rid of Peja, and want to find someone to fill in at SF for him that does not take as many shots, but is just as deadly from 3pt range would you guys ever consider Kyle Korver?

The plus to having him is that he does not demand a lot of shots, but he would keep our 3pt threat alive. He is basically a poor mans Peja. Someone we don't have to worry about taking too many shots, but players cant leave him alone because of his shooting ability.

This scenario I am interested in ONLY if we were to lose Peja. I have always liked the guys ability to shoot. I am not familiar with his defense, and ability to create. Can anyone enlighten me? He seems a bit undersized at SF, but a perfect fit if we were looking to save some $$. Any thoughts?

I actually thought about this a few times myself.

He is a decent defensive rebounder. He can bring the ball down the court and has pretty good passing skills. He rarley drives to the basket, doesn't have much ablity to create for his own offense. He plays the passing lanes and works hard on defense.

I posted a trade thought about Peja earlier in the season when whether his heart was in Sacto was very much in question -- Korver was part of it. Actually the idea was to get Dalembert, Igoudala AND Korver in return to patch up all of our holes at that time (young defensive OG, young shotblocking big man, replacement Peja). But of course we've moved Doug since then for a pretty damn good OG so the dynamics have changed.

great shooter....i hope he gets invited to the 3pt shootout again this year...and i this time i hope he wins

and despite what others say...i personally don't think he looks like Ashton Kutcher

Kyle Korver is off the chains!!!!! it would be nice to get AI too!!!!! HAHAHAH that will never happen. AI= GOD

Kyle korver is a great shooter. he can shoot it whereever he wants. He is also a little clutch because of last weeks when he made a couple of clutch shots.

I also agree with iheartbrad, I also want him to join the 3 pointer contest as well. He might be as good as Peja in the future.

Korver looks like Theo from MTV's "real world/road rules challenge". Also, I have not watched him much, but he seems more inconsistant than Peja!

SacKings384, i always get me confused with you. sometimes ill be reading a post and be like wtf i didnt write this. LOL, and then notice its not me

wouldnt mind the trade if we do get dalembert and igudola but it wont happen... but id still prefer peja.... for now....

korver though is a underated passer and could work well in our system....

I remember last season's All Star game...can't remember which player said it but someone said that he went into the lockerroom, saw Kyle inside and thought he was Ashton Kutcher! Haha. :D

I don't think Korver is too small to replace Peja at the SF since Peja plays very small himself.

I do think there is an issue though that can get obscured -- Korver is a shooter, so is Peja. But the difference is this: shooters are nice, but they are complimentary players as a rule. They stretch the defense, but they can't create much on their own and have to be spoon fed by their teammates. The thing about Peja is that he is, or can be MORE than a shooter, and hence on another plane from Korver. Korver gets his looks because of the brillaince of Iverson. At least in theory, Peja's off the ball movement allows him to get his movement even without the brilliant player drawing all of the attention. That makes Peja a rarity amongst shooters, and makes him a star. Korver is a shooter on Peja's level, but can he create for himself? Or is he just another complimentary shooter spotting up and waiting for the ball? That's a significant question because its rarely a good idea to trade stars for complimentary players.

True Brick, but say our team stayed pretty much the same minus Peja... I think in this situation Korver would add some rebounding, and still keep the defense stretched out because of his ability to shoot. Being a set shooter (and a damn good one at that) he would be kind of the last option on the floor of our 5 starters if here were included.

Just a thought on if we were trying to save some cash, and get a decent shooter in return. I have noticed that Peja is not shooting that much since we brough in Mobley (in the games they both played together in)
