'Soul Meets Body' by Death Cab for Cutie. Boy, do I love that song. It sounds like a throwback to 80's New Wave, my favorite musical genre. I wonder if the other songs on their album are similar?

Faith No More - Falling to Pieces

An often over-looked group. I can't say I'm happy about them being considered a major influence of rap/rock acts like Linkin Park or Korn, but I still love this band.

most of death cab's stuff sounds like that. they're pretty good, too. you might also check out minus the bear. they've got a great modern new wave sound.

:)

faith no more is ace. and yeah, they were followed by the eventual korn's, limp bizkit's, and linkin park's, but they were co-founders of a very aggressive and progressive style of music, along with the likes of rage against the machine and the deftones, the 'tones being one of my favorite bands, not to mention sacramento's finest.

deftones - lovers

From what I understand, that song was more or less improvised during the Heineken Hall shows.

Cowboy Junkies - Notes Falling Slow

yeah...it was a duet that adam duritz and some female singer wrote in a bar after a show during that tour. they were both drunk off their asses, and just sat at a piano and started improvising. he couldn't remember the tune, but bits of it came back to him during the heineken show (hence the name 'hazy'), and he played it instead of a long december. its one of the major highlights of that recording, along with goodnight elisabeth. i love listening to live shows on my ipod at work. i get my own little office concerts. :)

counting crows - hanginaround (live @ heineken music hall)

I'm just glad they did two of my favorites on that cd - Omaha and St. Robinson in His Cadillac Dream.

Ai Du - Ali Farke Toure & Ry Cooder

Outkast - Git Up, Git Out (OS Remix)

my favorite outkast song.... i wish they would go back to the old outkast style

Alkaline Trio - Wash Away

was a cover of a song by the same title originally by True Sounds of Liberty

I like AT version better.
