i was soooooo disappointed in this album. frankly, it sucks. it's incredibly diluted by some sort of hope for mainstream success. it's not a fun record like quality control or power in numbers. the beats are uninspired, it sounds too rehearsed, and it lacks the freestyle b-boy nature that made jurassic 5 so unique, even in the underground scene. i expected more from j-5. hopefully it was a product of laziness and we'll see j-5 back in top form on the next record.

Cut Chemist left the band. I have not heard the new album, but they were great but obviously missing him live. I am sure the different sound has to do with the loss of one of their DJs.

Ok one MORE thing we have in comon... Love Grisman! espcially his stuff with Jerry and Old and In The Way... now where is that CD of Grateful Dawg.... hmmm?
Great stuff, back when I was a starving musician, his sound guy, Decible Dave loved my band and we got to record in his home studio in Mill Valley. It was really fun, he came and watched and we "partook" together. Dave also hooked me up with Babatunde Olatungi (sp???) one of my other favorite percussionists. If you did not guess, I was (am?) a percussionist. BTW he and Jerry fought for years over the copyrights to that material, finally to make-up and do another album and tour in the 90's. Did you see that one? Great set of shows!!
