Lol I missed the new commercial. Did they literally have that cut and ready to drop before all this drama???? I retroactively rescind any sauce or lasagna I may have granted Snake.
I think it may have been an edit. I don't really keep up with his product line except that when his shoe dropped I had to look away.

I'm old school though so probably haven't bought a pair of basketball shoes to wear on anything outside a court since Jordan 3s.

that March 7 Spurs game is going to be interesting. Have tickets to it and unsure how I will react to his announcement.

I am think dead silence might be the best choice…..
Might be the right call - no chance the entire arena does it, though. Because that would be a statement.

The more I think about that, the more I realize how lucky we were to get anything of value back for Fox. He had us really backed into a corner. The guy practically did everything possible to get himself out of here, but the irony is if he had actually just asked quietly so we could explore options, everyone would have been better off.

If there is anyone left who believes he didn’t request a trade at this point, that’s gotta be one heck of a koolaid they’re drinking.
Even after the bomb dropped on DLo's show there were whispers that San Antonio is preferred but there's really 4 teams he'd accept but the tier 2 "insiders" (ie the guys directly below Shams) in the national twitter game all said that Klutch told any team that inquired he would not re-sign. Period.

If true it puts him in a pretty select group of players to have pulled off and I am not sure Fox is on the level of AD in NOP or Kareem (before FA!) or I guess Harden? Not sure who else has ever had a one team list and got their way. Dame sure didn't. And he's definitely a few notches above Fox.

I'll never understand the urge to trade away great players who are helping our team win and are also great character guys. We literally just signed him and he was universally lauded as a great pickup. He's been nothing but fantastic all season. I simply do not understand. But I am just a lowly lasagna maker, what do I know.
This,

Another guy here talking about trading Lavine. Before he even steps on the court! Nonsense.

I swear the kigns fans are so traumatized. They don't want nice things

This right here. He could have done it so much better. None of how they went about it was necessary. And then to say we "deserve the best", I mean this guy just has no character at all. So glad he's gone.

I really could care less about basketball shoes, but something about Fox wearing a "Steph Curry" branded shoe just bothered me. Join Under Armour with a shoe in the same general family as Curry, fine. But having your signature line under Curry's line seemed weird. Yes, I understand Nike Jordan's have a whole family of shoes with current NBA players, but that's different. Jordan isn't playing anymore and he's definitely NOT on your closest rival in the NBA.

Eddie Jones and Vin Baker had Jumpman deals in 1997 but I think the first "Jordan" branded signature was Melo in 2003/2004 - which would have been the season after Jordan's final retirement.

That seems acceptable to me. The Curry thing always struck me as gross too.

One more highlight:
Those words brought a big smile to the face of Kings center Domantas Sabonis, who grabbed DeRozan as he left the locker room and asked: “Does this mean you’re not leaving?”

Sabonis said he was relieved to hear how DeRozan answered the question.

“Yeah, I’m happy,” Sabonis said. “We need him. He’s a great guy, talented on and off the court, so we’re just happy to have him.”

Yeaaaah, this is quickly shaping up to be one of those "You can't play real basketball like you do 2K". In a perfect world, does a Cam Johnson type make more sense than DDR? Sure. But especially in a season with so much turmoil off the floor, I think trading DDR now would just wreck this team. It's looking we're adding a serious chemistry piece, a better fit offensively, etc. Ride it out this year and readjust after you figure out the coach.

Yep. Go grab a rotation big and maybe a couple more bench depth pieces and let this season roll

I saw enough with DDR to say he's Fox's equal in the clutch and there's no point having both. Especially with Monk. Zach just offers something different and if that includes more DHO I am here for it because the first year we ran it was so much more fun to watch than the Fox 3-point show.

Yeah, I think it has to be Jval. I'm pretty convinced on it. He solves a lot of your bench scoring issues and he finally gives us an option to keep pace with Domas off the floor.

In terms of the back-up wing, get one of these young guys the opportunity to go win the job. Colby, Cissoko, Icraw, Ijones. I Jones has given us flashes this year so far, see if he can continue to build on it.

Agreed on all counts. The only reason I was considering possible deals for DeRozan was if he really was reconsidering wanting to be in Sacramento. If so, you find him the best landing place you can while getting back players that fit a bit better. But if he wants to be here still? Then you hope he and LaVine take the approach that they have unfinished business and find the success with the Kings that they weren't able to (in large part due to LaVine's injuries) in Chicago.

It's not a great fit. But it can work. One key is for Monte to get a solid backup center and/or a backup wing. Those are clear holes that need to be plugged for the Kings to survive the bumps and bruises of the regular season. Not to mention this team desperately needing bench scoring.

What sometimes gets lost in the shuffle with him is that him and Domas know one another pretty well, improving chemistry even further. This is Domas’s team now and if Domas endorses him, then the rest of the team will fall in line.

I really hope we get him. Makes so much sense that it would be a gut punch to see him land elsewhere.

Combine that with the in season Draymond podcast....and the guy just doesn't get it. Glad we are trying a different direction

Yep.. Fox eventually proved he was a crap leader. Along with stuff like you mentioned, one thing I always found annoying was when he wouldnt address the media during tough stretches last year. You could almost guarentee he was the guy doing the post game presser when things were going well but Keon, Kev, HB when it was bad.

He ultimaly proved he was as hard as anyone to build a team around

Monk is more of a leader for sure.

Not necessarily. They want to introduce LaVine before the game, of course, and I imagine the earlier Monte availability is about fielding questions about the trade/Fox so the LaVine conference is more focused on looking forward, etc.
Is this the first presser since before the Detroit game? I imagine the bloodthirsty podbros will want to pepper Monte and anyone else there with questions about the Brown firing and Doug's situation and you know, if they knew Fox was gonna be gone a month later it maybe was easiest to just do it all at once with one "ask us anything presser" after introducing LaVine.

Although it would actually be nice if it was Zach LaVine day I think we all know it won't be.
