On Jim Rome is Burning, Rome said that he shouldn't feel disrespected by what the Maloofs did to him, but that the Maloofs should feel disprespected by how bad he has been playing and that after the Webber trade he has taken them to last place in the division. That's it in a nutshell.

basically he said that peja should stop *****ing... he asked to be a leader..he was the reason for webber leaving..he is down 8 ppg down 6% fg percentage..and that he asked to be traded..and that he should have been ready for this. He also said that he shouldnt of said what he did about being "disrespected" because that just tangled things up more.

thats just frickin ridiculous.. especially the part about him not supposed to express him feeling disrespected, what does he expect? god, cut the guy a break. if you ask me he has been nothing but classy to this point.

He said that Peja hasn't been playing well the last couple years, isn't showing much in a contract year, etc, etc. I think today is the only day I've ever listened to Rome, but I was hoping for a trade update.

Well...hes right, but Peja does have health problems and has changed since hes been a husband/father. I don't know if that emotionally changed his motivation on playing basketball, but he had said that he doesn't care about the money anymore. That tells me hes not fully into the sport. I think a change of scenery would more likely help him a bit. Sacramento is stale now for him. Unlike other basketball players who start families, Peja is way too sensitive and lets things get in the way of his basketball skills.

this is going to be interesting... don't make the Kings organization regret this decision, Ron.

O.k... I will say it: Welcome Ron to our Kings!!

GO KINGS!!

Maybe Ron will realize that the Kings were really the only team who wanted him and in turn he can produce for us. New York didn't want you...LA didn't want you bad enough and neither did any other team out there. So realize that this team wanted you here and thought you could help them be a better team.

Rome is a blowhard.

Wecome Ron, Give us the defense, toughness, and scoring that you promise to provide and maybe we will finally lose our reputation as a soft team. uuuugh I almost forgot that we still have Brad Miller. :(

Man, Bonzi and Artest? If we can keep them both cool-headed, we should be fine, but thats a monumental undertaking at this point :\

welcome Ron! Wow will our GF rotation be a pure hustle and defense line-up now with Bonzi, Ron, Martin, and Garcia. This is going to be awesome.

Also, now, we have a high chance of locking up Bonzi Wells at the end of the season, and if Petrie can snag a defensive bigman and get rid of some of the 3 amigos (maybe in the same deal) next offseason, plus with our high draft pickw e'll have next draft, the 06-07 season is looking awesome.

Sure, Artest has to have an attitude rearangement. But if there was any place for him to do it, historically, Sacramento is the best place (jsut ask Bonzi, Bobby, Jimmy Jackson, Vlade, etc.)

You don't welcome someone who is "forced" (against his will) to come to You

You let him prove himself and You never turn Your back on him because You will get stabbed
Thats exactly how I am feeling.

I am a Kings fan and I will continue to support my team but I am NOT going to jump on Artest bandwagon just because he is wearing a sacramento jersey.

A lot of water has to go under the bridge before I even consider having a bit of respect for that drongo.

Ron, hope you flourish in Sac as have other troubled souls before you. Speaking only for myself I plan on giving you the benefit of the doubt since everyone should be able to take what they've learned so far in life and apply each lesson to enrich their lives and be fogiven for the past.

I've thought about it...I've stewed over it...I wasn't sure about it before. But now I'm excited, and I'm looking forward to seeing the new look Kings.

Welcome, Ron, and GO KINGS!!!

Did anyone catch Gavin's hair-do when being interviewed by the media on HPL? What was that? I think that the "Tru Warier" haircut looks better than his.

welcome (again) ron ron! i normally don't post twice in these kind of threads, but this is certainly a unique situation. we hope we get the best from you (with maybe just a little bit of that nasty), and i know the fans will give you the best as well. it's a fresh start. no one can deny an nba player a fresh start.

i have mixed feelings about this right now, but alas, i must extend a welcome to ron artest

welcome to sacramento ron, please try to keep your head on. guard the hell out of kobe when we play the lakers, that is the fastest way to the fans hearts in these parts. we hate the lakers! play with passion, sanity, and for the team. we want to see defense!

Welcome Again Ron

Welcome.

three things we need from you

1. productivity
2. defense
3. stability

provide us with these, and you will become a fan favorite.

WOOOOHOOOO!!!!

I CAN REORDER THAT JERSEY!!!

I wanted a bad a$$ on this team. I was clamoring for the Peja for Ron trade about two months ago. Sure enough, it happened. I am so excited now. Hopefully, Ron can be like Chris and leaves most of his baggages behind and becomes real star player here in Sactown.

If I were Artest, and I can't imagine what that is like, I wouldn't want to come to Sac either. Face it, we're a struggling team in a small market if you're looking in from the outside.

If the Kings are lucky he'll see some of the untapped potential in the team and appreciate it. I'll save the unlucky speculation. We don't have to go there for now.
