Welcome Hilton Armstrong!

Again, what is so difficult to understand about him being in the best situation with the hornets? With any other team, he doesn't get to play as much, or even make the team. Because of being with the hornets, not only did he make a team, but he was able to play more minutes in more games than potentially any other team in the league. He was in the best situation to contribute with the hornets, and he proved what he can do already.

There could have been other situations contributing to this though. Gerald Wallace played zilch for us and when he went to Charlotte, he essentially blossomed into a star. Jermaine O'Neal did absolutely nothing in Portland but became a borderline superstar in Indiana. I'm not necessarily saying that Hilton will be like any of the aforementioned players, the point is that for whatever reason, some people just suck at particular places but blossom at others.

Welcome Hilton, whatever you did in your past gets erased. You have a clean slate here. The one part of your game that I like is that when you're near the basket, you throw it down instead of flipping in a layup. Something that our other bigs could learn.

BOOM!! nailed it.

But Gerald and Jermaine couldn't get off the bench. Because of the roster constraints, not only was Hilton backing up Chandler, but he filled in many games along with Marks and got MORE TIME THAN HE WOULD HAVE GOTTEN OTHERWISE. He's gotten more opportunity with the hornets than any other team would have given him due to their circumstances, including what he will get here in Sacramento. He will get less opportunity here than before. That's my point.

You don't know that for sure. For all we know, Hilton becomes another J.R. Smith (a player that the Hornet unceremoniously get rid of a few earlier than they should have). Only time will tell.

Yes, I do know for sure that he will have less opportunity here than in his hornet career. Despite the lack of centers on this team, coach still likes to play smaller depending on the matchup, which puts guys like Noc or Donte at the 4, with Brockman or JT playing spot minutes at Center. This roster has more depth and flexibility than the hornets have had while Hilton was there. NOLA had nobody off the bench, and had to make due with whatever they had. Add to that Scott's short rotations, and guys like Marks and Hilton were his bench options of choice, and he got a lot more playing time than most teams would give him. Cedric and Bass hardly played at all. Hilton will have a worse opportunity here than before.

For all YOU know because you don't know anything about him. You seem to think this is a Diogu situation where the guy doesn't get time on the court. He's had plenty of time for a guy in his first 4 years to show what he could do, both as a key reserve and in a starting situation. He hasn't worked out, because he's not that good. Any big man on the Kings roster right now is as good as Hilton, except May.

And as for May, where are his fans now? When that deal went down, I was totally against it. All I heard was "give him a shot", "clean slate", "wait and see, he could contribute". Well?

Still doesn't change the fact that this is a welcome thread.. You've been here long enough to know what's what. Sounds like you are getting upset over a cash and player deal. Where were you when we got Cedric Simmons?

Welcome Hilton... Prove me wrong all those years I have bagged on your game.

He won't take Brockman's minutes if anything he takes KT's minutes.

I know this isn't the place and now I am breaking the rules myself but I think you may be right. Which leads me to believe that we might have another deal REAL soon involving KT, and possibly another player *ahem* Martin/Beno/Noc.. Bringing in Armstrong though worries me that this player Petrie is going after might not be a big man.. We might be getting us a starting caliber PG and keeping Evans in the back court with him.. I hope I am wrong though.

As far as I know, May ate all of his fans somewhere around the third game of the season when he was starting for no apparent reason.

Anyways, this is a welcome thread so let's not derail the topic at hand any longer.

Welcome to Sac-town, Hilton!

Welcome to the Kings, Hilton! If you're reading this thread, you already have a glimpse into the passion Kings fans have for their team. Do your best, play with heart and hustle, and you'll do fine!

GO KINGS!

Yet another totally irrelevant move by GP. I really don't understand how this guy can be so money in the draft and absolutely take a dump with moves like these.

What are you talking about? We get him for practically nothing all we give up is a second round pick in the future. We also get cash which probably cover the salary of Hillton. So we get size which we needed with out paying his salary.

welcome to the land of redemption mr. hilton armstrong....

here is your "redeem my career card" we kingsfans always give our incoming players... you only get one and we wish you the best of your stay here in sac.

also... it is not redeemable for food like food stamps.. we start explaining it now cause of sean mays...

I don't know why, but I really got a good feeling that he can and will succeed here if he's given a chance.

that feeling is called "Optimism" and there is nothing wrong with it. I like this move. not a huge move but a new start for a talented young guy.

Welcome to the Kings Hilton!!!!

This is your chance

This is the time

things didnt work out for you in NO

well here you may get to the court and make a difference!

Coach will work you hard in practice
Show him you deserve to be here
Show him that defensive effort, block those shots, dive for the rebounds
body up as hard as you can

If you show coach the effort, opportunity may arise
It may be due to an injury
It may be due to matchups on the opponents bench
It may only be garbage minutes to rest our bigs

The energy on this team is awesome, soak it in and put it out there
in practice and in games, if you get there

this may be your last chance to show the NBA that you belong

Dont blow it!!!

Do you think we can get any Hilton Armstrong player fans ;)

"if armstrong would get enough playing time he would put up 30/15"
"tyreke needs to learn team ball. Give the ball to HIlton, he is the real MVP"
I can see it already...

If hes active defensively then you can sign me up as his fan. How about every time he blocks a shot in arco they play a wacky noise over the speakers ala ben wallace's gong sound. Maybe it would encourage him to get as many blocks as possible.

I'm talking about him being irrelevant, just as May is irrelevant. He will be a non-factor.

I was thinking maybe a duck quacking or a bunch of babies crying.
