I agree. The basketball guru was with Cousins in this board all the wayyyyyyy! He never missed explaining/defending Cousins in those bits of bad rumors. I actually see Bajaden as DeMarcus' fairy godfather in this board. I bet Bajaden is very happy and I am happy for him too.

I just threw up in my mouth at the mere mention of Kwame Brown.. Another name springs to mind. Joe Barry Carroll. Robert Parish was one of my favorite players on the Warriors, and they traded him and the 3rd pick in the draft to the Celt's for the rights to the first pick in the draft. The Warriors drafted Joe Barry Carroll and of course the Celt's, who already had Larry Bird, drafted Kevin McHale and the rest is history.
As a huge Kentucky fan I can tell you all you got a great player.
The 'character' issues are all really overblown, he had the same thing following him to Kentucky. He'll get his technicals and complain to officials from time to time but from what I see of the NBA, this isn't anything to place him as a bad apple. What REALLY annoys me is how they act like him and Cal fought regularly on the sidelines... That was not an issue at all and should be completely ignored. He had people baiting him late in the season and took it laughing, he enjoyed the fact that they couldn't get him going.
He will be a tank down low for you guys and he is as competitive as they come. He's got the nasty streak you want in a big guy.
For all the great players we had at UK last year, he was the favorite among a large portion of UK fans... Even with how good Wall was and the respect the entire fanbase has for Patrick Patterson.
You all got a steal, there were MANY games last year that Cousins was easily the best player on the court for us. He developed so rapidly. Early in the season I asked more than once how he was the #2 ranked recruit in the nation, then he added some post moves and played at peak effort and he was dominant.
One thing you'll notice about him is he just has a nose for the ball. It's hard to explain but it's like whenever there is an air ball or deflected shot he's always the one to get his hands on it.
Congrats again on the steal, I'll be paying close attention to you all and definitely hoping you see the playoffs this year which doesn't seem very far fetched. Even though he left UK after one year he'll always be a Wildcat.

I was watching some videos at NBA.com and Kenny Smith said he thinks of Cousins as more like Dampier with some offense. I mean Dampier was ok especially when he first started in the league but comparisons with him as time went along doesn't feel right. Anyone think of any other player that might resemble Cousins size and style of play? I was thinking more in the likes of Elden Campbell, pretty good but never really broke out into an all-star level player. I've only seen some highlights of Cousins so i can't really tell until i see him actually play. Is he as good or even better than Oden or Horford coming in as a rookie? I hope his development continues on and becomes a super star for the Kings.
Really excited, i've been very envious with the Blazers having so many bigs, youth and potential the past years and with our draft picks this year together with Evans, Omri, Greene i think Kings can be on par if not better than them right now. Hopefully we can become like the OKC Thunder next season.
