so u guys like letting centers hayes guards just shoot it rite over him rebound it over him???block him???have u guys seen how hayes has no offense at all zero!!!!then he trys to force some shots thats what got me thinkin wtf are u doin???? idk im just sick an tired of having a small pf iv ben sick and tired of that sense we had kenny thomas and then again with carl 24!be realistic we aint going nowhere with a midget powerforward hayes would be better of comin off the bench...cause if demarcus aint scorin down low whos gona score hayes????i dont think so and his free throws suck as so u tell me where im wrong at wanting to start jj or jt or **** even activate hassan...u guys all talk **** about jt but to me hes still a good player he just never gets the chance he deserves p.w always changing his role so he never knows what his role on the team is
The horrible truth is that Hayes is better than JT or JJ. He is not an offensive force and we don't need him to be an offensive force. I am not sure his play with the Kings demonstrates anything yet because of the chaos on the court but in a well structured defense he is very difficult to get beaten. He is very strong. If you remember way back to the Lakers game, remember how well he guarded Pau Gasol.
He is a veteran and a very good leader. All the players like him and listen to him. He can set picks. He can rebound.
I think very few of us like small centers but we don't get to sign free agents. JT has shown his skill level and it's not great but adequate. JJ confuses me perhaps because the team is a confusing mess. He LOOKS like a tremendous athlete but either isn't or just doesn't know what his role should be on this team. Whiteside, to me, looks absolutely inept. He can't shoot, he is very weak, and looks confused. I will be surprised if he contributes significant minutes in the near future. In a few years, he ould be a very different player. Who knows? He's worth hanging on to but certainly shouldn't be playing much in games that count.
I think it's a great question, actually. I think it is very difficult to actually see what Chuck brings to the team and perhaps others are better at describing it. I'm sure you aren't the only one who is confused.
I looked at a few videos and he has an uncanny ability to stay in front of big guys and BECAUSE he is short and strong, can't be moved. He also has an ability to block shots occasionally on guys half a foot taller. At the least he contests shots very well. I don't know how he does it without fouling but he does.
Now, if I had my druthers, I'd have a shot blocker on the team to go with Hayes. Different matchups would determine who played.
Please look for videos on Youtube or there was one thread here recently that had several videos. He is very inspirational on a team that needs a steady, vocal, and intelligent guy on the court. He is all of that. And he came cheap.
