Some nice crap calls by the officials in the second quarter. In fact, my first thought was that this might be the Thunder's "game 6." I hope it doesn't go that far.

EDIT: And as I'm typing that, the Thunder are on the receiving end of yet another ludicrous foul call. This is gonna get ugly.

Okay, so I panicked. I'm glad the Thunder were able to keep it together and get it done. Now, on to LA. I cannot even begin to imagine how much fun it would be to see the Lakers eliminated from the playoffs with a sweep on their home court.

GO THUNDER!

You mean you didnt like the no-call on Ron Ron clotheslining 2 Thunders? :p

Exactly the play that caused me to write that post. I guess since he took TWO players out at the same time, the officials had no choice but to pretend it hadn't happened.

Didn't get to see the game but I heard the last 0.3 seconds on the radio :p

Great, great win by OKC and again LA showing how mentally weak they can be by blowing a 7-pt lead with just 2 min to go. Now time for the Thunder to be even more focused and close this one out by Game 4.

those two turnovers at the end were sweet, for sure.

this game sort of seemed like the Lakers best shot, to be honest. they had a lot of things going in their favour, including the refs (the stuff they were calling in quarters two and three was ridiculous. if they hadn't gone for the replay at the end, they don't leave OKC alive) and they still blew it. it'll be interesting to see how the Lakers respond on their home floor, but the Thunder just look so much better right now, even though they don't actually look all that good.

defensively, the Thunder are great, no doubt. however, offensively, they didn't look all that spectacular. once the Lakers bigs started to contest after the pick-and-roll and the once the outside shots didn't fall, their offensive gameplan just seemed to lack imagination. when Durant, Harden or Westbrook drove, they turned the ball over or the bigs missed open shots from the outside. makes me think they are really going to have a very hard time against both the Spurs or the Clippers in the next round. both those teams don't turn the ball over, which is a problem for OKC since they need to run, and both those teams have bigs that are mobile enough to heavily bother the pick-and-roll. I just don't see the Thunder moving past either of those teams without some really hot shooting.

Lakers fans at their finest...

Let the implosion and the embarrassment continue...!! We'll all be watching with glee!!

(I do feel bad for Steve Blake though. That is just not right.)

Steve Blake, wife get hate tweets

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- Los Angeles Lakers guard Steve Blake was the unsung hero of his team's first-round series victory over the Denver Nuggets, scoring 19 points in Game 7.

But he learned quickly how a town can turn on him after he missed a potential game-winning 3 in the Lakers' 77-75 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday.

After the game, both the Twitter feeds of Blake and his wife, Kristen, were inundated with criticism ranging from curse word-laden rants to threats.

Stay classy, laker fans.

they play back to back in the playoffs?!!??! thats really weird..
Staples center has two basketball teams and a hockey team in the playoffs right now. All kinds of scheduling shenanigans to get 6 playoff games in 7 days.

OKC robbed yesterday by bad officiating. they play back to back in the playoffs?!!??! thats really weird..

While I am always saying that LA gets calls, I will say this: Game 3 was very poorly officiated, BOTH ways. The refs flat out missed a call late with Durant's over-and-back. Harden committed a bad foul late on Kobe that resulted in 2 FTs. And no matter the case, unfortunately, LA did make their FTs the entire game.

Dear Thunder: There is a team wearing yellow that needs to be beaten like a red-headed stepchild. Currently they are winning by ten. Please rectify this situation. Thanks.

Sure hope Westbrook is okay. Looks like the marathon playoff schedule in Staples just might not be all that smart.

Hey, better late than never! Durant's jumper is just so pure when he has space. Thunder can close it out Monday night at home.

Best part was watching Durant be clutch and Kobe, well, not be clutch. :D

Seriously though I believe Kobe's final 4th Quarter line ended up like 2-9 with 7 points? hahaha

I don't have anything to add and would just like to share in the collective glee of seeing the Lakers lose. that's all.

Major congratulations to Scottie Brooks and the Oklahoma City Thunder! I'm incredibly happy for their fans and more than a little jealous of what they've been able to do that we came so close to doing.

And congratulations to Insomniacal Fan, kingsnation, Mass. Spike, The Hammer and Vlade4GM for correctly predicting the number of games it would take for the Thunder to wash away the Lakers.

Also, nice touch by Brooks to empty the bench so all the Thunder have a chance to at least step on the court for the greatest game of their season thus far.

Wow, either the Thunder are much better than I gave them credit for or the Lakers are much worse.. dispose of the Lakers in 5 games? I thought the Lakers would at a minimum made this a highly competitive series

Yep. And when the folks in LA see the Clippers AND the Lakers lose in the same day, life is just good.
You better believe it. :)

I just can't be happy around my brother, who is a Lakers fan, except when they play the Kings (he swears to me).

Man gotta love seeing the Lakers frustrated and eliminated. Besides my favorite teams winning, there has to be no better feeling in sports than watching the Lakers lose. :D

Both, IMO. The Thunder, I believe are the second best team in the league after San Antonio. The scary thing is that their core is so young, they should easily be competing for titles for the next 8-10 years MINIMUM! Which is crazy.

Also, the Lakers of last year and this year just aren't as good as advertised. Selfish, mentally unstable, inconsistent, you name it. I don't know if this Lakers core has another title in them. Pau is out next year, IMO.
