I am very proud of our TEAM!!! As Snapper Jones said, "Look out world. Team USA is back!"

:D

Here here VF. This team was amazing...couldn't have been better. What chemistry and genuine comraderie amongst players with such high egos.

Can you imagine what a letdown it will be to go back to all these players respective teams after playing with such talent these last few weeks?

It's on right now on NBA-TV. I don't see it listed again after that.

I watched it originally on FOX Sports - Bay Area. You might want to check there. If I see it on the upcoming listings, I'll send you a PM.

Thanks VF, I wanted to watch it but I didn't know it was on FSN and I don't have NBA TV so I was kinda out of luck...:o

Nice to see America dominate but don't jump the gun too much. Anyone remember Fiba Americas 2003?

I think that team also blew out everyone by 40 or 50. I think that was the team with Duncan, T-Mac, Ray Allen, Elton Brand, Jason Kidd, etc.. In fact, I think Bibby might have been on that team also.

But good to see us do well nonetheless.

They did very good and it seemed like for most part they played like a team, still there were a few instances where the players had decided that they would shoot the ball and they didnt think about the shot clock or the offense. For those who didnt watch the games the culprit was NOT Kobe, it was mostly Redd, Miller and Chauncey at the first degree, secondl level would be Anthony and LeBron who were trying to force things. (Did Kidd even take any shot attempt, I couldnt remember any other than one against PR )

They have zero post presence, Amare and Dwight were getting overmatched and on offense it was those open dunks they were managing due to double teams on Kobe or of a pick and roll on the wing. Better and stronger teams than these would pick those and shut down the big guys, even Argentina with a full squad is capable of doing that.

All the running and full court passes will dry up in China and as teams prepare more for them it might even lead to turnovers (they had a few in the finals ).

Much much much better shooting from this group and hope that continues in china, and they always jumped into a lead in the first quarter and it will be interesting to see what they do when they have a deficit. Will Kobe try to shoot his way out of the deficit, will lebron then also share the ball. What will Kidd do when he is forced to shoot the ball.

They did very well now but there are questions to be answered and lot more preparation required as well and I am sure Jerry colangelo and K are much more knowledgeable in BB than me so they should have noticed this and would take care of it next year.

I'm congratulating the guys who just won the gold medal. I don't think that's jumping the gun. IF that same basic group of young men goes to Beijing, I strongly suspect we'll see some very, very good basketball - and every reason to be in the hunt for the gold.

Unfortunately, I haven't got a chance to see any of team USA's games (I'd absolutely LOVE to watch them but I don't think I have the channels.), and I think you're right that US should definetly be "favourites", so to speak, to win it all. However, I will say this, despite all the individual talent and prowess USA have over other countries, they will not have it anywhere near easy against teams like Spain and France/Italy, Spain in particular.
I haven't seen games as I've mentioned, so maybe they've gelled and bonded as a team, but if it's the same type of game they're playing as when they got knocked out by Greece, don't expect to win it all. If you guys had met Spain in the final, no offense but you would have got such a beating you wouldn't know what had just happened. :)

Of course, this team seems much better with Kidd, Kobe etc. but don't ever count out Spain....That's all I'm saying.

Not seeing this current team puts you at a distinct disadvantage. This isn't just a group of guys wearing the same uniform. This is a TEAM, led by Jason Kidd and Kobe Bryant. The difference in this year's squad as compared to previous recent squads is more than the difference between night and day. They are a true example of the best and the brightest the US has to offer AND they're playing like a team.

I'm not counting any of the Euro teams out at this point, but don't kid yourself. Any Euro team who thinks they're facing the old USA team is going to be in for a BIG shock. I'll repeat once more for emphasis: They are playing unselfish TEAM basketball and they're playing at a level that takes my breath away.

No Euro team thinks that :) that's my opinion...

I watched three or four of their games and each time somebody else was the star - in one game LeBron stroked 11 consecutive shots in the first half! Kobe took over the next game and Anthony was the hot hand in another. Howard put together a nice game down the stretch too. Our guys had some amazing athleticism they could get to the hoop whenever they wanted. Incredible talent on the floor.
