Was the game worth watching? No spoilers inside

I do exacly the same thing. People are different. Fans are different. We all have different needs. We all like the Kings. The idea that there is a "correct" reason for watching a game is ridiculous. In the end, in a lousy year, you have to find a way that is enjoyable to YOU - not anyone else.

I 2nd that.

Thank you QoooooQ for recommending the Clippers game, and Boogie-havoc for recommending the Wizards game. I totally disagree with Glenn and Rookie and find this thread immensely useful. Keep it up guys!

I think you mean that you agree with Glenn and Rookie. ;-)

Here's a tip. If you want to use this thread and avoid spoilers, bookmark the actual thread. That way the front page posts won't give away the ending.

I've got a holiday party to attend tonight. Looking forward to seeing a positive recommendation for the Miami game.

Actually, I recommend the entire first quarter. But for the love of all that is good and decent, turn it off as soon as the quarter's over.
~~

Yeah. I watched the first quarter. Paused the game to put the baby to bed. Came back, and due to a glitch with NBA broadband, it flashed 3rd Quarter, Rockets: a lot, Kings: a little before resuming the end of the 1st quarter.

ouch. Another one of those games eh?

Ignore the two posts above, don't check the boxscore (like I just did, stupidly), and just watch the game.

Sluggah, QoooooQ, theclash4u5 - THIS IS NOT FUNNY. If a game is competitive down the stretch, please DO NOT hint that it's not. All you do is get people (like me) go to the boxscore to check out the final score of this "boring" game, only to discover that it was indeed very competitive.

If the last minute of the game was competitive, then just say "watch it" and be done with it. Any additional info is not funny, it just ruins the game for others, let alone if you say stuff like this:

Sluggah: "A close call again, watch it." = "not sure if you want to watch it as it wasn't really competitive, but if you don't have something better to do watch it" (this was following the most exciting Kings game of the year)
QoooooQ: "I dunnnnno. Might want to skip it" = "a few nice plays, but all in all you probably should skip it" (same game as above)
theclash4u5: "watch the first half and then turn it off" = "the second half is one long garbage time" (for a game that was competitive to the very end)

NOT FUNNY. NOT COOL.

Are you really getting angry with us because you are too lazy to watch the game for yourself?

I'm wasn't joking, you really should turn the Pistons game off at halftime. The game was not "competitive to the very end". The 2nd half was up there with the GSW game...

I'm angry because you're ruining what was (to me) a very useful thread. You have plenty of other threads to complain about the Kings performance, why write spoilers or misleading notes in a thread that's specifically intended to help people choose which games to watch? It's not intended to help people find games where the Kings rocked or help them avoid frustrating buzzer-shot losses. If this is what you're looking for, please start your own thread.

And you may not have been joking, but it's very obvious that this game had a very close ending, which is exactly what the OP and others consider a game worth watching. The opening post explained this very nicely:

What's a good game?

1. Games the Kings win
2. Games where the Kings were competitive. i.e., they may lose by 10, but they were in it
3. Games something spectacular happened. e.g., Cousins bites PW's ear off

What's a bad game?

1. Games where the Kings were not competitive. e.g., blowouts, those games they're 8-12 behind the entire game

I believe most people would agree with this definition, and last night's game certainly falls into the first category (I know, because I have NBA league pass and I was able to go through it. Too bad I knew the result :()

I don't know anyone who would want to watch the 2nd half of the Pistons game...and the game wasn't close at the very end. We made a few shots, but it wasn't like it was tied with 20 seconds to go. It may have only been a 4 point difference, but it felt like a 6-10 point loss.

I've only posted once in this thread, so I'm not exactly sure why you are I'm being included in your anger, but I still think it's sad that you only want to see games that are "worth watching". So the rest of us have to suffer through the terrible losses, while you just get to watch games that mean something to the season?
