Appetizer for Thursday

February 21st is definitely not a good day for Kings to play Basketball. Only win on this date Kings had in 1986 when they won in Phoenix - 118 - 110. Record at the time was 24 - 32. Since then we are on 7-8 games losing streak (was to depressing for an exact count) on this date. About time to change it.

Kings at 24 - 29 facing a road heavy schedule for the rest of this depressing agrivating and roller - coaster season. Still only 2.5 games out of the 8th PO spot. If Kings can win all games this week - there is a possibility that they will be in the 8th spot by the end of it(Monday to be exact). With a win against the Warriors we can get out of the last in the pacific again. Also a long road trip coming up and it might be our last chance to catch up. This 3 games before that trip are very important because if we win all 3 of them - the moral would be high and anything would be possible.

Judging by the new look of this site - somebody was working hard over the ASB. Looks great as usual. Much appreciated here. Maybe that will inspre Kings to win on the road

ASB is over. Did not want to watch but the bad weater forced me. Celebrity game sucked - Should get rid of it. Greg Anthony was very annoying - and that includes his suit. Only highlight of that game was "mrs Parker"
Rookie challenge - not really a challenge because the rookies are just that and one year in the NBA does make a difference. They should thing of something else there
Skill competition - boring. Now, if You pick 4 players like let's say - Kwarme Brown, Greg Ostertag, Ben Wallace and Jerome James - that would be couple hours of fun because they would literarly need couple hours to finish.
Dunk competition improved imensely the moment - when Chris Anderson was banned from the NBA. The hobbit won - but I personally liked AI more.
3 pts - shooting - Just because - you have a decent percentage - doesn't mean that You can really shoot. Dirk deserved to win even though - he just annoys the hell out of me
Shooting stars - get rid of that too. what a waste of time.
ASG - even KT and Jason Hart wouldn't turn it over that much. All the shooters from the Western conference couldn't hit a three to save their lives. Haven't seen such a horrible shot selection since the last ASG. BTW - the whole introductin was garbage. Players should stick to BB. Pathetic.
the highlight of the whole weekend was Reggie Miller beating Kenny Smith in the shoot out. That was funny.

3 days till the trade deadline things are getting interesting. Kings need a backup PG and a big defensive presence. Kings don't need to give awat draft picks and to take bad contracts. kings don't need to make a trade just to make a trade. GP - could once again prove his qualities here. Everybody is tradeable but Jason Hart because nobody would take him.
many players in the league are not sleeping well these days. Some of them are screaming - "get me the hell out of here" some of them are hoping to stay wherever they are. many Gms are not sleeping these days. maybe GP could use the insomnia and a moment of weaknes to rob someone.
I hope that Lakers don't make any trades because Odom, Walton and Brown are instrumentall for Kings success. Also hope that Knicks make some trades mainly because it is fun - if You are not Knicks fan.
There will be at least one trade where You will think - "WTF was he thinking ?"

If You don't remember the last game - we lost on the road again. It was a battle of two teams in which neither wanted the win and Kings outsucked Memphis down the strech to get the the well deserved L. We couldn't hit a three if our lives depended on it but that detail did not stop us from trying over and over again. We played hard considering back to back but to win on the road - it takes more than just playing hard. Kevin Martin finally had a solid road game. Ron Artest had his worst game in his youn Kings history but I will let him make it all up on Thursday

Tonight we play Warriors and depending on the health situation it might be very interesting. Warriors have kinda owned us lately. Their back court always causes problems. too quick and too athletic. they shoot a lot's of threes and if they are falling we will have problems. We have been great at home lately and ther is no reason to stop now. If we can reboud the way we did lately - we should be fine. This games counts double and it is our chance to make up one spot.

Mike - hopefully got some rest. BD is always tough guard and mike will have his hands full.
Ron - also hopefully feels better and as long as pills are working - everything is fine
Brad - also his thumb hopefully better too
SAR - had a great chance to gain some weight back. We need more from him
Bonzi - should be back again. He might be playing his last game as a King. Hopefully not too rusty

KT - nice rebounding and effort but horrible decision making and shot selection. Nice rebounding though
Kevin - it is a home game so there is no readon why he shouldn't score 15 pts
Cisco - emergency PG and emergency shot blocker
Skinner - who knows
Corliss - probably still exhausted from keeping his diary. Might get another DNP - CD
Hart - did well in his DNP - CD. Just as we like him

RA - hopefully got some great new ideas over the ASB. Maybe he can cut the rotation to 6. Wouldn't be the first time.

GS has struggled lately but also had some nice wins. Very athletic team. My TDM award favorite - Adonal Foyle. Couple of veteran kings killers in that team. Won't be easy but we should prevail.
