Warriors' Ellis out at least 3 months after ankle surgery

ellis didnt win rookie of the year and martin sure as hell wasnt runner up... and douby is a pefect comparison to ellis... a sg in a pg body asked to play pg....

Correction. It most imporved player of the year, and Kevin was runner up. And Douby can't hold Eliss's or Martin's jock strap.

What kind of person would lie about spraining their ankle while riding a moped? It's not exactly the manliest mode of transportation around... And how could he possibly think that making up that story would put him in a more favorable light with his employer, when he had a clause in his contract that said he can't do it?

Besides which, didn't the cite in the OP say that he told them he hurt his ankle "working out?"

My wires is crossed, not really my place to call him out. I'm just always suspicious.

Yeah, I'd be suspicious, too, but I figured he lied when he said he was "working out," not when it came out that he was riding a moped. As I recall, he wasn't exactly forthcoming with that information in the first place. Besides which, why would he lie about doing something that he's not supposed to do in the first place, unless he was actually doing something even worse.

I mean, he knew that getting injured doing something like riding a moped was a violation of his contract, so why would he even cop to that, unless the "real" reason he got injured was in a fight, or robbing a liquor store, or something?

Recent reports seem to indicate the Warriors aren't buying the moped story either. There was an article this weekend - I'll try to find the link when I get a chance - that said the injuries were NOT consistent with something you'd get from a mishap with a moped and were, in fact, more consistent with those seen by folks on high-power motorcycles. (Va-room!) I think Ellis tried to weazel his way out of trouble and figured a "moped" wouldn't sound anywhere near as bad as a Harley.

That's what I was really thinking. Big Ben syndrome (Steelers, not Bulls), Monta doesn't seem like a moped rider to me. See how I couldn't get my story straight either? (It's because I ride a moped, 1984 HONDA SPREE BABY!!!):D:D

I still think Martin got ripped out of that Award. Ellis only won it because he was more in the spotlight with the Warriors, making the playoffs and all. Makes me angry...
