OKLAHOMA CITY -- Season tickets for Oklahoma City's new NBA franchise have sold out in just five days.
Chairman Clay Bennett said the last of approximately 13,000 Thunder season tickets were sold Friday, and the team has put names on a waiting list for games at the Ford Center.
About 4,000 seats have been withheld for single-game, group and partial-season ticket sales. Tickets to individual games are to be sold next month.

I'm a little envious of the ride the Thunder fans are boarding. From what I've seen, they're a lot like we Kings fans were once upon a time - and hopefully will be again. Teams going into OKC are in for an ear-shattering evening, with the energy from the crowd giving the Thunder the ability to do the impossible.

i'm a little ignorant of my sacramento kings history, but when the franchise came to town, was their departure from kansas anywhere near as contentious as the sonics' split from seattle?

I'm a little envious, too. I guess Kings fans are a little more "mature" now (spoiled?), but I think it's a little sad that Sacramento seems to have lost the "magic" that once filled Arco, whether or not the team was any good.

I confess to being woefully "in the dark" about any angst the loss of the team may have caused Kansas City. All I know is that right from the very moment Lukenbill announced he had purchased the Kings, I was excited about them coming ... and, somewhat regretfully in hindsight, didn't give a rat's patoot about the fans in Kansas City. We used to have a couple of Kansas City fans post on the board. Hopefully one of them may see this and respond.

Good ol' Lukenbill. He dreamed big and put his money where his mouth was. He brought a pro sports team to Sac. Something no one else in Sacto seemed to be able to do. He pretty much went broke trying to keep the team afloat. Even the city loan weasn't enough to keep him going as an owner. Hopefully, Sacramento won't let the dream die due to apathy. :(
