According to this article, Wade aggravated his sore knee last game which just adds to the problems he has with the seperated shoulder. Wade claims that he will no longer dunk the rest of the way if it can be avoided. In fact, it appears as if this injury to his knee (as in what originally made it sore) came about as a result of him trying to overcompensate for his injured shoulder.

VF21 totally called this one during Wade's first game back in the Cha/Mia thread:

Further injury to an area already needing surgery is always problematic. What if, for example, in trying to maneuver so that his already injured shoulder doesn't sustain further damage, he steps wrong and injures his ankle or knee?

It just doesn't seem like a good idea to me to take the chance. This is a multi-million $$ asset we're talking about for the Heat, not some scrub at the end of his career anyway.

Eerie.

Is this the same Wade who was flying on the court and dunking on everyone in the 4th quarter of today's game ?

People have been saying this about Wade since he came into the league. He's always played with reckless abandom and you have to wonder when it was going to start taking its toll.

It'll be interesting to see how he adjusts his game to the reality that he's not getting any younger and these 82+ game seasons really accelerate that process. :)

The good ones become smart heady players that depend less on their athleticism...

I thought the very same thing last night when I watched the game. That last dunk was stupid good. Then I thought about this article. I think with Wade he doesn't know to hold back. He's just one of those guys that has one speed and one level of effort.

yea i guess so...that attitude really is impressive but will most likely lead to a very injury-full career

it is strange though that the day after he claimed he no longer intended to dunk...he goes out and almost overexerts himself

Just goes to show that talk is cheap.
