Congratulations to Löwenherz, Capt. Factorial, hrdboild, and pdxKingsFan for moving on to the semifinals of the Album Draft Playoffs!

The results of the draft can be found here: https://community.kingsfans.com/thr...on-a-desert-island-music-draft-results.73660/

Rankings determined by votes of draft participants are:

1. Löwenherz
2. Capt. Factorial
3. hrdboild
4. VF21
5. pdxKingsFan
6. Mr. S£im Citrus
7. Spike
8. Padrino
9. Turgenev
10. Cojc

In the second round, you will be voting on the following matchups:

1. Löwenherz v. 5. pdxKingsFan
2. Capt. Factorial v. 3. hrdboild

You vote for one favorite PER PAIR as shown in the poll above. In this poll, you CAN vote for yourself. :) Movie lists with links to their write-ups are also posted below.

REMINDER: Because of the way this poll will have to be arranged, you will be required to make multiple votes. The vote will have to be public so I can keep track of whether anyone makes a double-vote. Pay attention to whom you are voting for: because of the way the multiple vote factors in, it’s possible to accidentally vote for both parties in a given matchup. I am including this in the OP with enough advanced notice so that everybody will be aware of what could happen. If, for some reason, you do happen to accidentally vote for both parties in a matchup, PM me before the voting deadline to advise me of the mistake and let me know whom you meant to vote for, and I will correct your vote. Any double votes I have not been advised of by the voting deadline will be considered invalid, and not counted.

This poll will be open for 5 days.

I am having a real tough time deciding between Cap and Hrdboild. I think Cap overall has the more "impressive" list, but Hrdboild is a tad more inline with my own tastes. Might have to sleep on this.

I'm a bit of a struggle with that as well. I had Cap's list highly ranked but I really enjoyed following Hrdboild for the first 20 picks and our pms so who knows. The other one I think I know who I am going with. No offense ;)

This is a surprise! I don't really care about the ranking and voting part -- I'm just proud of the list I put together to represent me. And it got me to listen to a lot of music over the last couple months that I'd forgotten about.

This is only my second one of these drafts and I thought my favorite part would be compiling my lists and sharing them because the music and movies that mean the most to me are woven into my life and have played a big role in forming my point of view (perhaps too big). But more than that I've enjoyed learning a little about the people behind the screen names.

I don't think I've ever had much of a conversation with pdxKingsfan or whitechocolate before but those are my guys now! If I was involved in a thread with Mr. Slim before we were probably arguing so it was cool to hear about your experiences in the military and our shared appreciation for Final Fantasy! (speaking of, one of the albums I had to leave off when I changed my last two picks was the Final Fantasy VII soundtrack by one of my heroes, Nobuo Uematsu -- that was the peak of the series for me but I also listen to the Final Fantasy VI soundtrack almost as much)

VF21 being an old school rocker who saw Cream and Janis Joplin in concert meshes well with my mental picture of your personality. Perfectly badass! Padrino's musical taste is eclectic in the best possible way -- it's all interesting side alleys of cool lesser known musicians who have developed their own signature styles. Lowenherz's list is like holding up a mirror to my own album collection -- aside from the Fiona Apple albums which you've convinced me I've been missing out on big time! Also thanks again for the Algiers recommendation! I've been listening to them a lot lately. Turgenev's list is something I'm going to return to a lot if I'm in the mood to listen to something new.

Even though it felt like we all diverged quite a bit, it was fun to see some familiar albums popping up here and there that I didn't expect other people to know about. I realized pretty quickly that it didn't really matter to me if someone else picked an album off my list because there was always something else to replace it. I kindof like it when other people have different taste though because I felt like I was putting together a playlist, just finding albums that compliment each other, and it would have been harder to do that if half my list got picked by other people. I'm not really very competitive though so I can understand why other people might find that process less enjoyable than a true competitive draft where every pick stings a little more. I hope you're all proud of your lists at least. The voting part is pretty arbitrary. But the lists themselves are like time capsules of who we all are at this moment.

That being said, can we get some live sports back anytime soon please? I'm dying here! Even the MJ documentary is over now. I'll take almost anything at this point!
