Props to Vlade for even agreeing to go on the radio. This thing is so wrong on so many different levels that I just wish it would all go away.
Peja celebrates breaking Mitch Richmond's record, has an article come out that says he wants to stay a King and would accept less money (although that would have been pretty much anticipated, based on his season) and then this happens?
I HATE the way trades in the NBA are handled. I don't necessarily know of a better way but this way sucks big time.

I almost hope Peja is traded tomorrow, just for the simple fact that it would save one of the most awkward moments in the history of the league from happening. 
And Peja said its time to move on, so that pretty much tells me that Peja in a Kings uniform is done. Whether at the end of the season or not.

This situation isn't as unusual as some people are making it out to be - trades are nixed fairly regularly, say one out of ten, and palyers go back to playing on their original teams. There are three factors that work for the Kings in this instance.
1. It's not like they were unloading Peja for junk, so he doesn't have to feel totally unwanted. Can you imagine if the Webber trade had fallen through? Now THAT would have been hard to recover from.
2. It was the Kings, not the Pacers, who nixed the deal. Perhaps the Kings can put a positive spin on it for Peja given that this was the case.
3. Peja is still in a contract year so he still has an incentive to play hard. This may give us time to heal wounds, and we'll see what happens in the offseason.
That said, this does feel very, very awkward.

Very rarely does a team say goodbye to a teammate, the paper work waiting approval at the league office, and that player come back to the team after the trade is nixed. THIS IS VERY UNUSUAL!!!

Good points, QF, although I still can't shake the feeling that we're stuck in a lose-lose, with either Ron or Peja here but not wanting to be 100%.

Quite. And always a disaster. Can't think of a MAJOR player that its happened to where it wasn't quickly rectified by a followup trade. Let alone a guy who is going to be a FA. Keeping Peja now would just be insanity unless we were determined to free up the cap space.
