VF21 enters the 21st century

I just have something to share with all my friends here at KF:

VF21 is no longer on freaking dialup. As of Saturday, I am a proud subscriber to WildBlue. I know it's not as fast as some other broadband services, but for me it is as different as night and day.

What can I do?

I can watch the embedded YouTube clips.
I can send pictures without having to sleep while they upload.
I can look at the video clips posted here and on Kings.com
I can play games that were impossible before.


So, to recap...

I got a DVR a couple of years ago.
I got satellite internet a couple of days ago.
At this rate, I might even get a cell phone sometime before I shuffle off this mortal coil.

I too have been in internet hell for 13 years. ATT however just turned on some UVERSE terminals in my area and there website says i am eligible now. Knowing my luck with internet it probably won't work but I ordered anyways. So if all goes well i'll be joining you VF!

And that doesn't include all of her posts, as some folks had to start over after a server crash some years ago. Impressive, eh?

And VF21 used to do wonderful live game threads using dial-up. I miss those. Since I could watch all the games, I didn't need those game threads, but I still loved to read them later. They were nice for folks who couldn't watch the game. Probably fewer of those people these days.

I knew what this was about before I cliked on the thread, too.
