Tyson Chandler

Having failed his physical due to great toe weakness, would the hornets still try to trade Tyson before the deadline? I think the Kings should be interested even if he has a chance to reaggrivate his toe on the mere potential to add a young athletic center to the rotation. I was wondering if we could trade them Drew Gooden + Filler for salary relief, or if the Kings now need to wait to trade Gooden until April 18th? If we could pry away a healthy Tyson Chandler to go along with Spencer Hawes and Jason Thompson I say pull the trigger.

I would think you would have to call NO and put this on the table:

Bobby J
Mikki Moore

for

Tyson
Julian Wright

Basically see how desperate they are at the 11th hour to get under the tax. That is, of course, if Petrie is actually authorized to used some cap space next year. They may be mandating that he stay around the 50M mark to keep financial losses minimized.

espn.com has sports info :p
lol yes they do, but im reading from hoopshype and the rest of basketball rumors site and didn't see it, i check espn last simply because i dont like espn (bias to big name teams) even when our trade broke yesterday they only talked about the trade in respect to the Bulls and then went to commercial without a comment on how Any on our incoming players might fit........or any comment in general that is bias reporting (okay for us but as a National Sports Network it not really national)

Does anyone know if we could include Drew Gooden in a trade before the deadline (Like we did with Michael Ruffin) or do the Kings now need to wait til April to trade him. I would expect New Orleans to be interested in 2 bigs for the playoffs this year who's contracts expire before they have to pay the luxury tax. If we did a straight Gooden/Mikki Moore for Chandler swap the future would look promising (given health of the bigs.

PG Lotto Pick PG?/Beno Udrih/Bobby Jackson (resigned for the minimum)
SG Kevin Martin/Francisco Garcia
SF Andres Nocioni/Dante Greene
PF Jason Thompson/Ike Diogu?Pick?resign a backup from the trade?
C Tyson Chandler/Spencer Hawes

I like that team defensively going forward. It also would have decent passing, 3-point shooting, and chemistry to compete for quite some time.

I really like the prospect of that line-up, assuming of course Gooden's expiring could be included in the trade.

However, if the Hornets are willing to part ways with Chandler for financial reasons, I doubt the Maloofs will want to take him on considering they're in the same cost-cutting mode.

Plus, haven't we learned a lesson about taking on a player who failed another team's physical? (read, SAR)

We couldn't include Gooden in combination with anyone else. We could, however, offer them Mikki and BJax for Chandler and Devin Brown, which could possibly get the deal done since it's mostly expiring.

Of course, we could only do that if we weren't in extreme cost cutting mode.

We can trade Gooden, but only by himself.

I would love it. Many of you would love to get Hasheem Thabeet. Tyson Chandler is what one could hope Hasheem Thabeet would turn into. Then get a pg in the draft either this or next year and maybe trade Andres Nocioni and others and maybe a pick for a great SF.
