Well it MAY be hapening as we speak and it MAY be true but in theis Skeptics book it's only a fact once the ink is on the contract.

well...this is a trade rumor...so the ink and the paper have already met, and the nba's moratorium applies only to free agents, so this trade can happen anytime. its just a matter of the teams agreeing over the players involved.

You know, I am not going to be amused at all if the freaking Hornets of all teams entirely pass us up in one big offseason. Especially not when they are nabbing good young bigs for decrepit old men.
They still won't have inside offense or perimeter defense. One thing (inside offense) they lacked last season, and will again. They addressed front-court athleticism and youth, and outside shooting. Peja/Bobby are also proven to be oft-injured, I hope not though.
No doubt, they'll be improved and have moved up from what they were last season.

Last year they finished with 38 wins. Their additions are Peja, B-Jax, and Chandler. Their losses are Claxton and Brown and a couple others. If their young guys play better, which they should, they will be pretty good. Like Kings113 said, they do have their flaws, but they definitley are looking at making the playoffs. I wonder how high of a seed they can get?
Dang why is Geoff just sitting on his hands? I mean Chandler could've DEFINITELY helped us! He doesn't need to score, he defends, rebounds, and blocks shots. You are telling me the bulls would rather have PJ FREAKING BROWN than Brad Miller or Shareef Abdur Rahim+expiring contracts? Give me a break. We also haven't signed one guy! We could've used Claxton, James, Przybilla, etc. But we haven't signed anyone or even come close to signing someone. All the good shotblockers are being taken and we need one more than anyone else! What's up with that?

Well I agree with you spirit, but lets be realistic here. The Hornets are a lottery team with cash and a reenergized fanbase. They are in the PERFECT position to make huge bold moves BECEAUSE they can't get any worse. They will be an exciting team next season but I am not sure I am about to become envious of a triger happy GM who is going all in on a pair of 7's right out of the gate.
I don't think it's as good as some think for the Hornets... West/Chandler is definitely an athletic, energetic, young front-court. But, very little inside offense, lack of size (mass for Chandler, height for West), and PJ Brown's leadership and experience is gone. Then you have Armstrong and Simmons on the bench expected to be starters, but won't be starting unless one gets hurt for a while or is traded. Could hinder their development.
Gonna have to take the key positives and negatives together. Are they improved with their signings? Most likely. Are they gonna storm the western conference and the league? No. I expect them as a 6-8 seed in the playoffs.
And, that's how I feel about that.
Still early days, still FAs on the market, and of course, trades for attainable/available big men.

thing is, nobody has signed anybody, period. lots of contract offers have been made, and some players have verbally agreed to contracts with teams, but the only player any team is currently capable of signing is a draft pick. the free agent moratorium ends on july 12th, and that's when teams can actually sign guys. i'm certain geoff is not sitting on his hands. he has clearly inquired about speedy claxton and joel pryzbilla. pryz hasn't commited to anybody yet, and maybe he'll commit to the kings. fact is, though, that almost every team in the nba has only the MLE to offer free agents. that said, its up to the free agents to decide what team has the best upside. the kings certainly have a lot of upside, but we're not yet contenders like the spurs or mavericks. speedy claxton signed with one of the worst teams in the nba because they could offer him more than the MLE. if he wanted the MLE, he probably would have signed with a contender.
as for chandler, yeah...i think the kings could have offered the bulls more than pj brown and jr smith. i don't know if pj's got an expiring contract, but that would be nice to free up some cash if you're chicago, considering they just dumped chandler, who is making a pretty penny. the truth is, they clearly aren't in need of bigs at the moment. there wouldn't be much room for brad miller on their roster. jr smith is a nice athletic acquisition, and while i think they certainly could have done better, they didn't do too bad if their goal was to free up some money after signing big ben to a good-sized contract.

I think we have that problem too if we sign a certain someone.
But I agree, they are a 6-8 seed playoff team with the potential to be a little higher IMO.
Not if we don't sign a quality PG. Douby can still back-up Bibby, just think we should have a vet. PG somewhere on the roster like as a third man

I think that they will use some of that money to resign some of there young players. But Damm we could have offered more to the bulls then what they are getting from NO.
