tyrant rants...

thanks, but i may disagree a little bit. it might of been a contract year, but dont you think it had something to do with just raw talent? i mean you have the lakers of the early decade that could turn it on like a light switch. and you have players like kobe that can take control of a game at will. its not coincidental that bonzi put up 25 and 12 because it was a contract year.

i certainly get the appeal there, bonzi does have a lot of talent. but he's been on two teams since the kings, and still underachieving; at some point, raw talent should be recognized and used by the coach. i think that tells you a little something.

and then the flip-side to that is, signing bonzi would've meant clearly not rebuilding. martin's development gets stunted some more, and we would continue pushing for the playoffs each year. it's not what i wanted to happen (of course, continuing to always use our MLE is also not what i wanted to happen, so what i want is immaterial. :p).

again with this rollercoaster of a team..when martin is the #1 option he'll get you about 25 a game, but we cant get to .500. when he's the 2nd or 3rd option. hes not aggressive and he'll go back to the 14ppg triumph he's used to. he's not a dominating player. his outings continue to stink as his scoring nights continue to look like lotto numbers.

Bonzi was stuck behind McGrady in Houston. Of course he's going to underachieve when he can't get the minutes. Look how much better he was doing this year with Adelman as his coach? Plus its still way too early to decide if he's gonna fit in well with the Hornets or not.

judging by his career, he's a guy whose ceiling is about 14ppg and 6 or so rebounds. that's not all that intriguing or exciting.

and also, i don't think his problem in houston was so much the spot behind mcgrady. i think he was seriously depressed about how his offseason had turned out.

im no longer wasting time baffling about this year. its become extensively repetitive and im getting more bitter by the minute. so, with that said our playoff chances are gone. we'll never hit .500. what do you want to see next year? i want to see a new starting center, a new starting shooting gaurd, and i want salmons, thomas and moore gone. yes i said i new starting shooting guard. ron is obviously our best player and tho he may be a tad frustrating to watch sometimes he's aggressive. he's not a bystander like kevin martin. which reminds us so much of peja. we should keep beno, shelden, spencer, garcia, douby, artest and try to shop miller, martin, moore, salmons and buyout mr. baby hook shot Thomas.

no..as long as we keep artest we will have no team chemistry..

sigh* anyone else moved on yet?

why is beating L.A so important? it wont do anything for us. the beno and artest kings wouldnt even win 2 games in a playoff series against the lakers. i thought some of you wanted to lose a little more so we can get something good in the draft. if you're going to be dopey dont be halfway dopey, be all the way dopey. you want them to win everygame or you want them to lose every game. dont preach less victories in hopes of a good pick and then change your entire perspective when its time to play the lakers. you want this team to get a good pick or not? let it go. the series happened 6 years ago. we were never a rival. because we never won a series. sure that team was filled with a few jerks, but those jerks are gone and they're not to blame for the crappy offciating. i wish i could see this much enthusiasm for every game. beat dallas, beat minnesota. why not do it throughout. i wana beat the lakers too. BEAT L.A. but this is just another game thatll go in the win or loss column after tonight.

Sorry, Lakers are not and never will be just another game. It is much more then the series 6 years ago.

And on another note, if a game gets a Kings fan excited, whose team is drenched in mediocraty, why not let that fan get excited about the game without criticizing their reasoning...

Why are you so negative? It's the effin' Lakers! What's not to hate about them, lol? Nothing's wrong with getting exicted about a rivalry (maybe not your definition of rivalry). Besides, we need something to get excited about with the way the second half of this season has gone.

It is not all about the series 6 years ago for me, although it was another reason I have on my list. You are making assumptions about other people's reasons for hating LA.

Even if it is the series 6 years ago for some fans, why should you get so bothered by it? I'm not in the least bothered that you don't hate the Lakers and I promise to not try and convert you. ;)

i see, but what else is there to go on? ONE year we were equal to the lakers, heck, we might of been even better then they were. but things didnt go our way. we were also tremendous in 03-04 but we lost webber and we never saw the lakers in the playoffs since 2002.

I can't speak for others and I'm not going to list all my reasons. For me, it's also a NoCal/SoCal thing. 'Nuff said.

Well, for one. Northern California and Southern California. There is a reason why we wanted to create a 51st state.

Another one of my many examples of why I can't stand the Lakers: about 15 years ago when we really sucked and they were really good we were down by a bunch, I believe it was 40-4 at the end of the first. That ticked me off and was probably the first moment I wanted to see the laker's flounder.

im very positive about wanting to beat the lakers. as i am about wanting to win every game this season. the definition of a rivalry means that 2 teams are both equal in strength and skill and they're competing for a purpose. basically just being competitive. there is only 1 other type of example i can think of. and this isnt high school in a small country town where the lakers are our cross town rivals. this is the NBA. there have been other teams that actually have/had a true rivalry with the lakers. the kings are not one of them.

Beat LA

It's funny how all you kings fans can chant BEAT LA and the more you do it and the louder you do it you just play into Kobe(THE MVP'S) hands. He's in a zone and will produce another victory in Sacramento. Kings fans you do have good news though, you will probably get a lottery pick! haha

sounds like alot of personal reasons. but theres nothing wrong with that. i just never understood.

A Laker fan is helpful for once...there you go tyrant, the answer to your thread.

i don't think you truly remember why everyone hates the lakers. Go read the history lesson and all of the things that have happened and you will re-hate the lakers with all of us.

i'd rather lose to all the teams we are competing with for lottery position than lose to the lakers. i'm content w/ beating the lakers 4x and losing the rest of the games in the year :)

NOTE: I've merged the latest tyrant ranting into the thread specified as such. Just seems much easier that way.

You can no more define being a sports fan than you can catalog snowflakes. Trying to do so just makes you nuts.

:)
Not if you are a Lakers fan buddy. I do sympathize with you all, I really do! The last three years have sucked major for Laker fans. We are used to winning titles, or atleast competing for titles. I had no idea that not having a shot a title could be so painful. You know...(whispering in your ear) we still have room on the bandwagon over here... you guys are from California you know...even if it is the country part:)

it wouldnt stink being a kingsfan if the lakers and other rivals werent as good as they are. back to back seasons of missing the playoffs. i wonder what we'll do with thomas and moore next year. artest might change his mind again and opt out

Here you define Lakers as "rivals" yet now you are blasting others for considering Kings v. Lakers a "rivalry".

Webster Dictionary:

Rivalry
: the act of rivaling : the state of being a rival

Rival:
1 a: one of two or more striving to reach or obtain something that only one can possess b: one striving for competitive advantage

Lakers vs. Kings is a rivalry

BEAT LA!
