Magic lose Turkoglu for rest of season

Orlando Magic forward Hedo Turkoglu broke his wrist in in Monday's loss to the Charlotte Bobcats and is expected to miss the rest of the season.

The injury occured with 3:07 left in the 4th quarter and the Magic down by 5. Turkoglu was running a fast break when Bernard Robinson fouled him. Turkoglu tried to break his fall with his left hand, and was left lying on the floor for several minutes before being helped up.

He returned to make 1 of 2 free throws and assisted on a Dwight Howard before being taken out at next dead ball.

The time frame for recovery is six to eight weeks, according to Magic spokesman Joel Glass, which would extend beyond the regular season.

Turkoglu was averaging 14 points and 3.5 rebounds after 67 games

AGAIN these injuries are making me sick to my stomach

I actually watched the game...and when he landed i let out a LOUD YELL! It appeared that he hurt his back...it didn't seem like his wrist was bothering him...::shrugs::

It was pretty frightening...the cameraman was right in Turk's face once he went down so you REALLY heard him yelling/cussing etc. I felt his pain

The Magic are once again screwed...::sigh::

GET BETTER TURK!!

sucks for the magic and hedo. hes been doing a real good job with the magic sucks to see him out for the season

OMG...sucks to hear this from Hedo! :(

These injuries...geez, so many of them. Get better soon, Hedo!!!!

^they basically have no bench...Turk was there bench....team effort from now til the end for them...everyone is gonna have to step up big time...they still have another game before Steve comes back...they are a hurtin unit right now...(as our the SacTown Kings ofcourse)

...

...

That sucks.

More and more it's looking like the playoffs may just turn into "Last Player Standing."

All these late season injuries make a great argument for a 60-70 game season, as fans we want more games but what are we really getting? More games featuring bench playes and play offs that favor the lucky over the tallented. Sometimes less is more.

So who wins the 6th man award now that Turk and Radmanovic are out ?

McDyess maybe?

These injuries are really late in the season though, might not knock those guys out of the running.

Not in this case. :)

In the words of the great philosopher, **** happens. :D
Come on you have to admit that a shorter regular season at the very least reduces probablities of injuries even if you want to deney the reality of repetive stress.

Jon Barry, Jim Jackson, and Scot Pollard should be very afraid right now. This is like a horror movie, we know one of them is next... but who?

That Bites ....

It should be a 76 game season:
 • Home/Away against other conference. (30 games)
 • 3 games against other divisions in same conference. Each year who gets the extra home game against whom switches. For example, in odd years, Pac gets extra home game against SW, even years Pac gets extra home game against NW. (30 games)
 • 2 Home/2 Away against same division. (16 games)

I doubt it will ever happen, but it could reduce the regular season by a week and remove a couple back-to-backs from each team's schedule.

horrible news, but it only figures... the injury bug seems to be striking not only all of the Kings, but is now branching out to anyone who ever played for us...

seriously, what a bummer. poor Hido.

Been playing 82 games for 40 years now -- think they can hack it.

In any case given the financial pressures, you'll be lucky if they aren't playing 90 in a few years. Be fine by me -- still a couple of wasted summer months to fill. :D

You forgot Nauls... he bites it prety soon in the film... and we are still not sure about Childs at the end... awsome film... where did I put m copy?????????? hmm

playing polyanna, i can say that this means i will have one less thing to follow in the nba, hence increase in productivity in real life.

the really worst thing is hedo will have to re-get into game shape before the european championship; i was really counting on him this time around. bummer.

Wow. well I guess the Magic's season is over now....At least we aren't the only ones having a tough time with injuries...If Orlando had all players healthy they'd be quite a team to reckon with I think..Ah well...Get well soon Doug and Hedo...Early Congrats on the marriage, Hedo!!
