Vote for only one list per match-up, and please read the reminder below.

REMINDER: Because of the way this poll will have to be arranged, you will be required to make multiple votes. The vote will have to be public so that I can keep track of whether anyone makes a double-vote. With regard to this matter, I ask that you pay attention to whom you are voting for: because of the way the multiple vote factors in, it’s possible to accidentally vote for both parties in a given matchup, i.e. accidentally vote for (1) Sacramento and (4) Sacramento. I am including this in the OP with enough advanced notice so that everybody will be aware of what could happen. If, for some reason, you do happen to accidentally vote for both parties in a matchup, PM me before the voting deadline to advise me of the mistake and let me know whom you meant to vote for, and I will correct your vote. Any double votes that I have not been advised of by the voting deadline will be considered invalid, and not counted.

Good luck to all participants, and happy voting!

Voting ends late Wednesday night a week from today. I'll try to keep this one a bit more bumped. Had a 32 voter turnout last time, keep it up. Happy voting.

A suggestion?

You might think about closing this round of the voting earlier than next Wednesday night. It seems the longer the process is drawn out, the more people lose interest. And since this isn't a finals vote, I'd guess most people will - in fact - get their preferences in fairly soon. Perhaps wind it up by Monday and have the next round of voting start Tuesday?

Good idea, if you can change it, change it so it ends Sunday night, so I can have the page up by Monday. If not, then all voting must be in by midnight Sunday and I'll just take the results how they are then.

I couldn't change it to midnight, so it's now closing Sunday night at 10:44 p.m.

At least I made it out of the first round for once.... ;) Doubt it will be happening agian, though.

You have an excellent assemblage of films, bdouble013, and I'd probably be very happy watching them the rest of my life. One problem, though, at least for me...Brickie has my all-time favoritest movie. And shallow person that I am, the lure of a guy dressed as a monk clacking coconuts together was just too much to resist.

Ok, no offense to Brick, but you all are crazy. :p I should TOTALLY be winning this!!! :D
You have some movies that are artistically better but I wouldn't want to be stuck on an island watching forever. Brick has a few movies I'd rather gouge my eyes out than watch but overall he's got a lot of fun movies that I'd watch over and over, ultimately that got him my vote.

Everyone's list had a good mix of movies that I really liked, and movies that you couldn't pay me to watch a second time. Including Brick's. However, his list also had (I think) six films that I'd wished were on my own list, which was more than any other list had besides my own. For that reason, he's got my vote for however long he lasts in the competition.

Well... that and the financial compensation.

Ok, no offense to Brick, but you all are crazy. :p I should TOTALLY be winning this!!! :D

Don't be insulting my popcorn island now bdouble -- I was quite clear when I began this whole thing that my eternity was going to be about entertainment and rewatch value. If I indeed hang on you are welcome to come on over to my beach for movie night however (which is every night). You bring the Goobers and drinks, I've got the popcorn and Twizzlers. :p

For me it comes down to:

(2) Bricklayer
2.09 - The Matrix - 1999
3.08 - Monty Python and the Holy Grail - 1975
4.09 - Batman Begins - 2005
9.08 - Serenity - 2005
12.09 - The Hunt For Red October - 1990
13.08 - Rambo - 2008
18.09 - The Road Warrior (Mad Max 2) - 1981
20.09 - Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers - Special Extended Edition - 2002

vs.

(3) bdouble013
5.14 - My Cousin Vinny - 1992
9.14 - 2001: A Space Odyssey - 1968
10.03 - Rocky - 1976
12.03 - Finding Nemo - 2003
15.14 - Independence Day - 1996
19.14 - Star Wars - Episode VI: Return of the Jedi - 1983

so sorry, as much as I like the movies on your list, Brick has more of the movies I would watch over and over and (generally) like more.

Now my list, however, is even better than either of yours. :p I need more votes! ;)

Ok fine. While my list has better mad movies, with more cultural value, and are far and away better works....I'll settle for Bricks crap if he's got Twizzlers. :p

Btw - I'm a Coke (liquid, not powder) man, Brick. I'll go with Dr. Pepper if needed, but this arrangement might end if I'm forced to bring Pepsi.

Thanks for participating everyone so far. I tried to time things out right, but I messed up. I am leaving for 4 days and I thought I would have time to set up the next thread before I needed to get to bed. Turns out I don't.

I apologize and I'll make sure to have the new round up quickly when I get back.

Um, folks, this round can't end until I have more votes than the "other guy".... :p
