I'm worried that we may see the Kings playing "big ball" this year, and we all know how potentially bad that can be. On the roster now there are 8 players at 6-9 or taller, that's right EIGHTPLAYERS.

AS SOMEONE POINTED OUT, we are weak at SF with Gay, Caspi and Williams.

But despite these concerns I'm optimistic.

I have a hard time envisioning any scenario where Moreland wins the starting job at PF in training camp. Not only will he be catching up with the speed of the NBA but he'll be competing with guys that not only have years of NBA experience but a year (or more in Landry's case) of experience in Malone's system.

That said, if at any point Moreland is starting for any reason other than injury or the team tanking down the stretch it will be a very good thing. It would mean his rebounding and rim protection translated to the NBA and that we'd have a good compliment to DMC in the starting lineup. Hopefully he's been working on that 15 ft jumper. Just enough to keep teams from doubling down on the other big.

Did someone actually say we are weak at SF?

Rudy Gay averaged over 34 mpg last season meaning the Kings need less than 14 minutes of decent bench production. Williams is talented but inconsistent. He had some very good games last year but more games where he just sort of disappeared. Casspi always plays hard and is a decent 3pt shooter but has essentially no midrange game. Not the worst flaw for a roleplayer to have though really. And of course I think we'll see Ben or Nik slide to the 3 depending on matchups and/or pace.

If Rudy Gay goes down then I'd say SF could be considered a weakness. As it stands I think it's a strength of the team.

Moving IT was solution #1 in addressing lack of ball movement and offensive fluidity. (or "ball-sticking" according to Malone.)

I'm having a good feeling about how this group of guys are going to mutually benefit from playing with each other. I am ready and waiting to give credit to management for assembling a group of players that are focused on the TEAM.

I feel like last year and the offseason was about clearing out dead weight. We may be young, but we do have some high character veterans. I think people underestimate the value of this.

I have a funny feeling this team might surprise some people this year. I have not had that in years.

Collison says all the right things and has a good head on his shoulders. It's encouraging to see him say it's all about a team FIRST attitude, you get better as a team the rest will take care of itself.

Really liking Collisons leadership.

Darren Collison reached out to you right after you signed with the Kings. What did he say to you?

Yeah, he was one of the first guys that reached out to me when I signed and he was saying, ‘we've got to be the leaders here. Just looking forward to playing with you.' We always went at it with us being backups for the majority of our careers, so we always went at it on other teams, but to be on the same team is a good feeling.

I agree with you. I really think that this team has the ability to make the 8th seed. A lot of fans from STR are predicting this team to win 28 games at best just because we lost IT.. I think this team is capable of winning at least 40 games. That's a high praise, but if everyone does truly buy into the concept of team ball and defense, we will be a huge surprise.

I'm very optimistic about the team this year...this is a feeling I haven't felt since seeing Tyreke play at PG. I really think that with the addition of great role players and vets who ball movement is the key to winning. I'm very optimistic about this year...what's not to love about the management's moves? Some may criticize them for not bringing more defensive oriented players, but we have no clue at players they've tried to target behind the scenes. It takes 2 teams to make a deal.

I'm really pumped about this year. I hope this team shocks a lot of people. I'm even excited about preseason...and I've never watched the king's preseason the previous years.

Well that would be ideal of course, a rookie shooter/saavy player and a rookie dynamic shotblocker, would go a long way to patching holes which we didn't patch with anything steady or dependable.

Ben will be in a better position mentally, coming off the bench at the beginning of the season. It will help his game.

Stauskas will be ready to start.

It doesn't matter who the first or second year player is at this point....they are who they are

I followed Moreland on instagram and noticed he is quite a bit bigger than his college physique already. If he adds some lower body strength that will also help.

Thing is for Sim it's so much easier to trim down from the size he's at now. It's simple. Just look what a carb free diet did to Lebron. If he doesn't slim down, I'm putting that squarely on the team trainers for not having him do a paleo/carb free diet. It's PURELY lack of information. He's got the will. Just needs the simple diet instructions. I'm half tempted to call him up myself. I could probably get through, too.
