Outgoing Players: Eddy Curry

I don't know how much the Knicks value Curry, but I think this trade would work out. The Kings receive a young, big center who can score, rebound, and block. The Knicks receive a great defender in Artest and scoring in Garcia, and allows them to give more minutes to Channing Frye.

We could deal Brad Miller later, or start him at power forward, and start either Salmons, SAR, or KT at the 3.

I don't know how much value Artest has right now, but I feel that it is declining rapidly, and I believe he is becoming a cancer to this team. The Knicks would love to have Artest, and he shouldnt cause too many problems there, because he has always wanted to play in New York.

So, what do you guys think?

By block do you mean fill up space (like blocking out), Eddy curry was never and is never going to be a shot blocker. He also averages more turnovers than blocks, steals, and assist combined. He is a one dimensional player and that dimension is post scoring (not a bad thing).

So we give up 2 swingmen leaving us with no backup for Martin and Salmons and get a taller version of Mo Taylor. No thanks

Curry has some things that the Kings could use, but he's not the shotblocker that we desperately need. To put it in perspective, Curry blocks about the same number of shots as SAR, and obviously SAR does not make teams think twice before driving to the basket. It would be funny (in a sad kind of way) to see Curry and Miller on the same team, fighting for a rebound, and neither of them able to get more than 4" off the floor! Well, now that I think about it, that's about what we had with Vlade & Brad. Two able rebounders, but not half a shotblocker between them. :D

Also, your trade leaves us with no decent backup for Salmons at small forward, although that's a position that could be filled with a free agent. Forget SAR and K9 at the 3. Neither of them seem able to venture out of the paint to defend a shooter.

Now... if you do this trade and follow it with another trade that sends Miller and K9 to ? for a quality power-forward who can block shots, then maybe we've got something.

curry couldnt rebound if his life depended on it
we have a back to basket player in SAR who at least plays a lick of defense at times
Curry is 7 feet and cant rebound nor block shots and is a big fat blob...
like someone already said...taller version of mo

Curry?!?

Hahaha, please come on now. Curry is a black hole on offense. He makes Yinka Dare look like a superstar ball distributor. He can score in decent amounts but he's a bad rebounder for a guy with his size and athleticism. Also, he definitely doesn't block enough shots and plays no defense. And that contract is just ridiculous.

Curry's got no heart (no pun intended). He could be great but his bball IQ is awful and he'll never be the player he could've been. Please don't go trading a legit star in Ron Artest for this fraud.
