I see no point in trading Omri and think the kings would regret it down the road.
If we did trade him, it would need to be for a player who is equal or greater in talent/production to what Omri would be in his prime. Determining what level Omri will reach is speculation right now, but I think he will be an impact starting sf in a few years, maybe a #6-10 on a top 10 sf list when he's in his prime. Point being, Omri has shown flashes of the type of player he can one day be, and when you commit to a rebuild, you commit to the patience it take to develop very young players, no matter how painful it may be.
The other option is to trade him for an impact pg, but until I hear a solid rumor which would clearly help the team, I'm not considering it. Landry however, is playing better as of late, which will increase his value, and given he's expiring and would think it's better than 50/50 he's moved by the deadline. Houston is interested, and if they would part with Brooks and we don't have to give up anything else valuable, I might do it. As much as I prefer Lowry, and am not high on Brooks, it would be a tryout for the rest of teh year, and if it doesn't work, he comes off the books, just like Landry would have.
I'm not too optomistic about a brooks/tyreke pairing, but I might try it.
