trade martin and get it over with

We need to try to get a big man if we trade him. Even if we have to package some youth with him, that's the only way we should trade him. Because he's our biggest asset.

his trade value is low right now. the kings need to win some games with martin contributing, otherwise every GM is going to low-ball us. the kings have no leverage to ask for good assets when martin isn't contributing to the team.

Yep. Buy at the dip, Sell at the peak.

Well then we should have sold a year ago. I don't think it is going to get much higher.

We're not gonna win with him contributing. He can't mesh with them. And other GM's know that. They also know that Kevin can be a great piece for THEIR team. He's just not for ours. They know what he's capable of. But we do need to package him with youth or our first or out expiring in KT. We need a major frontline player or C. I'm willing to trade a good amount of our assets for one(not all, but a good amount). Pair that up with reke and go from there.

Oh where, oh where has intelligence gone? Oh where, oh where could it be?
We have 8 games as a sample size, and there are people still jerking their knee!

Here's a little song I wrote
Might want to take it, note for note
Don't worry
We have Casspi

Stop. Take a deep breath, give it some time to work. We could be sitting on a goldmine of a backcourt. Sure, Kevin doesn't share the youthful exuberance (as of yet) the team this season has been playing with, but you have to give him more than 8 games. We are talking about OUR star. OUR product. We watched Kevin grow from a skinny kid with a goofy haircut into one of the leagues most efficient scoring machines.

Kevin can be the finesse to Tyreke's beast. If you think they are going to work that out in 8 games, then you just aren't an intelligent basketball fan. I'm a results oriented kind of guy, but I also know that positive results usually take time to develop.

I know I'm fighting a losing battle with all you fans who haven't been around or haven't been a fan of the team for long, but you have to allow this to develop. We aren't winning a championship this year. We probably won't make playoffs this year. SO why trade him again? We have the leagues most efficient scorer (IMHO at a very reasonable price) and we want to ship him out to 'make room' for Tyreke, when it is apparent to me that Tyreke has better spacing on the floor when Kevin is in the game.

This is drivel. It is nonsense. I am not a Kevin apologist, I know his deficiencies, but I also know his work ethic. And I know that he will quit playing the game before addressing each of those deficiencies in turn.

He did have quite literally the worst hair n the NBA for a while. Now I think that honor currently goes to Brandon Jennings.

Anyways, the sky is not falling guys (though it is dumping buckets). Let's wait a weeeeeeeeeee bit longer m'kay? Thanks

Very much agreed. We have 14 games till the trade deadline to continue to watch how these 2 young studs play together (as well as with the rest of the team). If it is blatenly obvious that it cant work, maybe we make a deal. If someone offers us a trade we cannot refuse (bosh) take it. Otherwise, let the two kids play together for the rest of the season and see how they can grow together.

No, let's not. It's not as if Martin is the piece we need to be competitive. At best, he could help us suck less.

The team can score with or without him. It's the other (lack of) fundamentals that cause losses such as, making second chance points, controlling the ball, defense, clock management, shot selection, moving without the ball, making free throws.

stupid trades are bad... m'kay. thats how we got nocioni and thomas, m'kay.;)

Exactly. I'm all for trading K-Mart in the right situation. I'm just asking everyone not to panic. We don't need another trade for "movable pieces"

in petrie we trust... on the bright side the trade might be so bad that we get another high draft pick. that way petrie will balance it out, bad trade; good draft.

Anything other than a starting big man or an expiring + high draft pick would be a failure IMHO.

trade martin?

If the kings are really thinking of trading martin, I think what they should do is jump into the Bosh sweepstakes before the deadline. Why not package martin with another player for Bosh. hell toronto is just liek sacramento. he will fit right in. Imagine having tyreke, thompson, casspi, and bosh together. Nice !!!!!
They will defiantely be able to make a push for the 8th spot.

So, I put my old trade offer back on the table, tweaked now. Martin+Nocioni for Amare Stoudemire? Salaries work, Amare has a player option after this season, trade would be contingent on an extension.

Sounds good to me but I think they'd want K9 instead of Noc. Or one of JT/Hawes. I don't think they're taking back Noc's contract. But some form of Kevin+pieces for Amare sounds good to me.

If Amare was not a flight risk then K9 and Kevin would be ok, but since there are no guarantees I think Supes's offer is fair.

I still think I prefer offering everything within reason to get Bosh, then a Kevin for Jefferson swap, then an Amare deal in that order.
