”sure, Darryl. How many unprotected firsts would you like to give us?”
QuetaSo what are some good defensive bigs, that can somewhat stretch the floor, that are rumored to be available?
I don't see what we'd be interested in from DAL or TOR.Richaun Holmes is not playing for the Kings tonight as they continue to field trade offers for the big man.
— Brett Siegel (@BrettSiegelNBA) February 9, 2022
Sources tell @HoopAnalysisNet that the Hornets, Raptors and Mavericks have inquired about Holmes recently.
Jimmer Fredette I presumeWhat we need, is some SWAG. Shumpert style, someone that comes in super cocky and ready to win at all times.
Glad that’s not our problem nowThe Indiana Pacers are open to flipping Buddy Hield to another team before the trade deadline Thursday, HoopsHype has learned.

We could add in additional draft capital possibly or something else but DFS would be nice….the impending free agency though is a killer.I don't see what we'd be interested in from DAL or TOR.
- TOR aren't parting with VanVleet, Trent, Anunoby, Barnes, or Siakam
- Achiuwa isn't a good fit next to Sabonis
- Flynn is redundant with Fox & Mitchell
- Boucher is a UFA after this year
- Brunson is redundant with Fox & Mitchell
- Finney-Smith is a UFA after this year
- Bullock is okay but he's 30
- I like Green but he doesn't exactly scream "win now" which is McNair's vision
I guess Porzingis to SAC confirmed!
I mean Porzingis does have the shooting, defense, & shot blocking you want next to Sabonis but I think he's best when he's playing C on defense vs. PF so not sure the fit is as good as it may appear.
People wanted a Hinkie/Morey-style asset maximizing GM and that’s pretty much what Monte just showed himself to be. No one is safe so long as the team can position itself for another star. Except, instead of going the Hinkie route (develop and showcase young talent to trade more more picks and chances to develop and showcase young talent), it looks like Monte is a true Morey disciple (showcase young talent/stack ancillary pieces to the point you’re able to trade them for better players/stars on the market).
no player is really safe in this method and no team has ever really won a championship killing its darlings like Morey has (except maybe the Raptors, who traded franchise favorite DeRozan for a year of Kawhi) but that’s the road you go down with a Morey-ite. Fox could be gone if the opportunity to trade him for a superstar opens up. Hell, Sabonis could be gone in a year if the opportunity to trade him for someone better or something presented itself. That’s that Morey/Presti/Hinkie gambit.
This.Stars need to get to the rim and hit tough 2’s, role players need to be able to shoot 3’s. https://t.co/a2BCU4cXLe

From @KyleNeubeck: “Sources familiar with the situation say [the Sixers] have two potential suitors with cap space lined up who they could move Harris to if they need to clear the decks. The pick-collecting Thunder are an obvious team to watch.“

Sabonis and Fox both have the mid-range and in game that becomes so important in then postseason. The trick now will be figuring out how to get there.Don’t we have a guy that gets to the rim?
Kings are going to get Harris aren’t they? From @KyleNeubeck: “Sources familiar with the situation say [the Sixers] have two potential suitors with cap space lined up who they could move Harris to if they need to clear the decks. The pick-collecting Thunder are an obvious team to watch.“

Harris and a pick or two for Barnes and Bagley’s expiring.Kings are going to get Harris aren’t they?
per @SIChrisMannix the kings are finally aggressively looking to move harrison barnes. (the raptors, with dragic's expiring and some draft capital, would be a really interesting trade partner imo)

whole lot more on the trade deadline right here: https://t.co/FZIkmF9Oux

Not really newsy per se, but rival teams seem to enjoy talking trades with Brad Stevens. One exec said "He's not trying to get blood from a stone and squeeze for "one more thing" like Danny (Ainge) did."
— Keith Smith (@KeithSmithNBA) February 9, 2022
Another told me "It's less like you're giving up rights to your first-born."
Doesn't help if that guy can't stretch the floor and is a below average passer once he's in the paint. Defenders just collapse the middle. See 2H of last night's game.
Geez, give it a rest, Fox is what he is which is a good player, worry more about the surrounding pieces and what they need to do. Fox isn’t Hali, Hali isn’t Fox. Both can be good you know. And both need pieces around them to help win.Doesn't help if that guy can't stretch the floor and is a below average passer once he's in the paint. Defenders just collapse the middle. Hopefully the next part brings in a good piece but order of players I’d rather go out is bags then holmes then Barnes. I know they want to move Barnes but I think he really fits with sabonis and we need what he brings. One front office source insists there’s another Sacramento trade coming, per @SteveBHoop
