Pel pick might not be too valuable to the Hornets now that it’s probably conveying this season (it also got traded for CJ McCollum technically)
PJ and McDaniels provide more younger wing/forward depth. Holmes gets to catch lobs from LaMelo every night.
Ish doesn’t come back in this version but Kings still have other methods of pulling in a backup guard.

I like it, but do you really think the Hornets throw in a first? I think its more likely a player for player situation.

Every single trade has involved a pick of some sort (the Kings even got a second in the Sabonis trade). Assuming Holmes’s value is around LeVert’s value if not more thanks to his contract, there probably needs to be a pick involved or the Kings can look elsewhere. The Sabonis trade essentially took both him and Turner off the big man market, which only increases Holmes’s value.
Obviously this would be an insane home-run (my second son, PJ since we lost my first son Vanderbilt), but I think you'd only get Jalen or the pick, not both. They really like Jalen and he's more usable for them long-term, since he's easier to play with Bridges.
I'll be honest, i'd do whatever it took to get PJ on board. I think he's that undervalued and his skill-set has just become so perfectly suited to start the build around fox/sabonis

I think we may really be underselling Holmes value there though. Myles is off the market with the Sabonis trade and there are like three or four other teams that might try to outbid them. I think that pick is gettable.

One last thought before I finally go to bed (and this is probably just the sleep deprivation talking) but you know who would provide spacing for both Sabonis and Fox and is a solid rim protecting big who is also deathly scared of doing anything but jacking up threes and has been in trade rumors for years? Kristaps Porzingis.

I think they're more crushed by the fact that they're being consoled by Westbrook.
Has just wore off for me as well I was vocal on getting Sabonis here it’s clear Indy wasn’t taking fox and that contract. I think what it was is I’m not a believer in Fox but I love Sabonis
We can’t trade Barnes after that move good locker room guy and should be good at PFspacong the floor
He’s missed 20 games and counting for his knee he’s damaged goods

I would do it. And I'm starting to think that Fox getting traded within 12 months is not a foregone conclusion. This is Sabonis' team going forward.

People wanted a Hinkie/Morey-style asset maximizing GM and that’s pretty much what Monte just showed himself to be. No one is safe so long as the team can position itself for another star. Except, instead of going the Hinkie route (develop and showcase young talent to trade more more picks and chances to develop and showcase young talent), it looks like Monte is a true Morey disciple (showcase young talent/stack ancillary pieces to the point you’re able to trade them for better players/stars on the market).
no player is really safe in this method and no team has ever really won a championship killing its darlings like Morey has (except maybe the Raptors, who traded franchise favorite DeRozan for a year of Kawhi) but that’s the road you go down with a Morey-ite. Fox could be gone if the opportunity to trade him for a superstar opens up. Hell, Sabonis could be gone in a year if the opportunity to trade him for someone better or something presented itself. That’s that Morey/Presti/Hinkie gambit.

In Vecenie’s piece today he thinks a Holmes for Washington/Plumlee deal makes sense with Sabonis in the fold but thinks we would have to add draft capital to make it work.
