Trade Deadline Rumors

Sander's issue cause too much concern to the point the risk is no longer worth the reward. Unless it's a incentive-laden deal and/or vet minimum contract, no thanks. Trading for him is not an option. It's too much of a Bynum situation.

Young and Kevin Martin from the Wolves is another option. Karl is the kind of coach who could maximize both of their talents....just like Adelman did with Martin.

I'd much rather go after Afflalo or Gerald Henderson, before Martin though

Not a rumor by any stretch, but I thought it was interesting to see what the Phoenix fans thought of DMC and what they wanted to give up. I, by no means, will ever entertain the idea of trading Boogie. Thought others might be interested in reading, I didn't think this warranted it's own thread.

If we ever ever ever ever traded for Cousins, this is probably the only package I'd want:

Goran Dragic, Alex Len, Gerald Green, Miles Plumlee, TJ Warren, 2015 1st round pick, 2015 lakers top 5 protected 1st round pick, and 2017 1st round pick.

I'd want them to take back Carl Landry and Sessions too though.. I'd probably include Omri, Ray, and Evans too.

Alex Len is a rising center, and he has potential to be a top 10 guy. I think he's probably the real prize in that deal.

I like all those guys if you can get one or more and retain the starting five and Staukas.

Im reading the Celtics may make a run at Cousins. Obviously he is a great talent and he is better than anyone on the Celtics but between the very high price tag he would fetch to go along with personality I would pass as a Celtics fan. I would imagine the conversation would start with Marcus Smart.

There isn't a combination of players on that roster I would take

I'd imagine that plenty of teams might try pursuing Demarcus, but if our front office is smart, which the jury is still out on, he's untouchable.

Celtics have also been linked to Lawson which doesn't make much sense. Karl and Lawson have history I wonder if the Celtics are talking to Denver to try and flip Lawson to Sac

I think the Celtics have literally nothing to offer the Kings.. the Suns could put up a much better offer even without including Dragic or Bledsoe. No offense to you as a Celtics fan, but I probably wouldn't even trade McLemore to your team lol. The only real asset I like is Kelly Olynk and this year's pick. Problem is, this year's pick won't be in the top 10.

"imagine"

I'd imagine it'd start at every valuable piece of their roster + multiple 1sts

The one thing, and I mean the only thing, that Boston has to offer is this incredible collection of draft picks. Including their own, Boston has accumulated at least 12 first-round draft picks over the next seven years. They could have as many as 14 but the Philly pick will be turning into a second-rounder after this year and it would appear that the Minnesota pick is not terribly likely to get conveyed this year or next year before it devolves into a second-rounder itself. Still, 12 picks is a ton. They could legally trade nine of them. That might be a decent starting point in any discussion about Cousins. :)

No, the conversation will not start with Marcus Smart. The conversation will not start. Period. Demarcus Cousins isn't going anywhere.

Someone is smoking some very strong stuff. Anyone that wants Cousins better have a Durant or a LeBron type player to trade. I wouldn't trade Cousins shoes for any of the players mentioned in the article. Seriously, were not going to trade Cousins, but if we were, Sullinger would have to top the list of players, and to be honest, after looking at the Celtics roster, there's no one that really excites me. And I'm not saying that to be mean, its just the truth. So it would have to Sullinger, Turner, Young, salary filler, this years first round pick and a couple of other future picks thrown in. That's as close as I can come, and that's still a deal I wouldn't make.

A player I would like to pry away is Terrence Jones of the Rockets. I've liked Jones since he played at Kentucky, and he brings a little bit of both worlds that the Kings say their looking for in a PF. He's 6'9" with a nice wingspan and he's a very good athlete. He's a good defender in the post who will block his share of shots. He rebounds well, and he also has the ability to move outside and shoot the ball. He's not a great 3 point shooter, but he's improved every year and up to around 33% right now. He just came back from an injury, and while he was on the disabled list, the Rockets went out and acquired Josh Smith, who is now taking a lot of the minutes Jones used to get. With a rotation of Howard, Motiejunas, and Smith, he might be available.

The only way Cousins gets traded is if he forces his way out. If it comes to that the Love trade provides a idea of expected value. So a top 3 pick and other young assets that don't threaten cap flexibility. That's really the floor on a Cousins deal considering he's under contact for longer and his value as a two way player is arguably greater then Loves.

The contract is definitely right - $1.6M this year and $2.5M next year with a reasonable QO of $3.5M the year after that. Super-athletic, decent shotblocker and rebounder, won't eat shots from Cousins. I might actually prefer to find a center to play next to Cousins rather than a PF, but I wouldn't at all begrudge giving Jones a chance if we could swing a deal for him. I'd like to try to find a way to nab him without losing Nik, but I'm not sure we can swing that.

Ideally, I'd like to find a way to trade Landry, but we would have to get back more than Jones. They're familiar with Landry, and he would be good scoring insurance to have on the bench. The simplest trade would be Stauskas for Jones. I hate to lose Stauskas, but I think I'd do that deal. I think!

I get a feeling that Kings might go after Enes Kanter from Utah.

A package of Nik Stauskas (Still has high potential) and JT (solid defensive 3rd big) and a future 2nd rounder may be enough to pry him loose.

Kanter has an offensive game that PDA probably drools over and his defense is not good (which shouldn't be a problem for PDA).

If Utah doesn't trade him now, they may loose him in the summer for nothing.

Kings would be set in the Front court for the next 8 years.

Even then I won't trade him he's on the roster until his contract year. Magic fans have a thread too that says " hire malone can get us cousins". Some fools in there think Vuc/ unprotected 1st can get it done. NO cousins is here for the next 3 years whether he demands a trade or not.

I wouldn't trade Cuz for Lebron or Durant.

Anthony Davis is the only player who enters the conversation due to youth/upside/being a big but even then, I see Cuz abusing him in a playoff series down the road. When Davis is the only player who enters the conversation and Cuz has his way with him almost every time they match-up, that leaves me with conclusion that I'm not trading Cuz for a single player on this planet.

I do think a few of our posters here come from another planet so if they have suggestions we're not privy to here on earth, I'm all ears.

I'm not sure what the expectations of others are towards Cuz but IMO he's going to be the best player and most unstoppable player in this league for 5-8 years, maybe longer. It's a Duncan type foundation, you don't trade that away. And I'm a huge Dirk fan but if he can get to the Finals twice, there's absolutely no reason Cuz can't do the same and more, aside from injury or FO incompetence.
