TNT - Reggie Miller

Not so sold on Reggie. Granted he was on the team for 18 or so years, but all he talked about was Indy.

Wasn't he broadcasting with Marv Albert and Steve Kerr? Aren't two out of three announcers slurping the Heat enough?

It's not like it was a "Triple Threat" basketball game, and somebody got left out of the "love." There were only two teams in the building; who else was he supposed to talk about?

Here's a thought: before we make up our minds about whether or not Miller can be fair to a team besides Indiana, let's see what he does when TNT lets him broadcast a game in which Indiana isn't playing.

i actually like miller. who cares if he's a homer. we all are in some way. its nice to see a new face during the halftime shows.

Hey may be a homer, but I really enjoyed that. They'll probably wean him off of doing Indy games now, but that was fun. You could tell Reggie still really cares for the team. He even let out a "WE'RE BACCK!"

It's nice to hear that passion shine through, I'm gonna miss Reg. :(

Totally agree. It was pathetic in the same way Kerr covering the Spurs is pathetic. They should make some sort of rule barring ex-players from covering their former teams for 5 years or something.

And I ask again, who should he have been calling for? How many people in a three-man broadcast team would you like to see rooting for one team? And don't try to sell me on announcers being unbiased, because we both know that's a myth.

I didn't mind it, in fact I kind of liked hearing him throw out positives about the team. It's not like he was making stuff up or talking like a moron (ie the Celts broadcast team). You've got to talk about something if you're a broadcaster. At least he was talking about one of the teams playing the game. Jerry Reynolds goes off on stories about stupid stuff that happened 26 years ago, but Reggie isn't supposed to let any bias show? He spent 18 years with the team and his first broadcast is covering that team. Did anyone really expect an instantaneous disconnect?

Agree with you, although I didn't see the game. Reggie was acting like anyone else who just retired after a long-term job with one team. Of course he's going to be acting a little like a homer. As long as he doesn't keep it up, so what. And remember, it could of been worse-Bill Walton!!

I've loved Reggie in his new job.

He was neutral on the Pacers, and actually thinks Detroit is better than them (or something like that).

^^Yes, before the first game against the Spurs, Reggie claimed that he didn't think Indiana had good enough chemistry to win the East.
