WNBA.com: Pre-season Power Rankings (May 19)

WNBA.com said:
9. Sacramento: Thanks to the inside presence of Yolanda Griffith and the Monarchs, they were finally able to overcome the Sparks in the playoffs last season and go back to the Western Conference Finals. However, they were never able to find consistent scoring from the perimeter. Enter Nicole Powell and two Chinese National Team shooters and the youth movement is underway. Kara Lawson is finally starting and will be another heady decision-maker on the court alongside Ticha Penicheiro. An early road trip will test their new chemistry and test just what they're made of.
Upcoming: at Phoenix, at San Antonio

So, the 2005 WNBA Champions were ranked as the ninth-best team in the league before the start of the season... Ninth.

Slim, the Comets have a belief...if NL says your going to have a bad year...smile, because you will have a great year. It's when she says you will have a good year, that you need to worry.;)

That's what we call the NL barometer.:)

Enjoy the parade... :D

I wouldn't miss it.

BTW - it is a rally at the park and a parade. No mention of the route.

So I figured I was already breaking rules coming back down to Sacrmento to see the game, that I might as well stay today for the parade/rally. I mean why not, right?!! :D

I won't be able to head down that way until after 4, so I think I might just park at the mall or something and walk to the park since they are closing most of those surrounding streets up AND its right at the start of rush hour.

Route info from the Bee:

I would guess local coverage only, but only for the news folks. I can't imagine that ESPN or FOXSports or any other channel would really do anything for it. Although we can hope.....Check kcra.com (channel 3 NBC affiliate in Sac) or kxtv10.net (channel 10 abc affiliate)....

I could have sworn I saw some footage of one of the Comets' parades on ESPN. I had to have seen it somewhere because I vividly remember it. Not that it means this parade will rate, but if it involves the Maloofs the cameras might very well show up.

As nice of an event as it was today, why didn't it begin in Old Sac and end at City Hall? Something this big certainly deserved a longer route so fans could spread out and really enjoy the joy of victory!

By the time I found parking (grrrrr) I couldn't get very close. I love the crowd and how great the players were. As for Yo's dancing, unbelievable!!!

FREE parking at the capital garage! I know, I couldn't believe it either. I got downtown around 4:45 and decided to just pay my right arm to park and then was pleasently surprised to discover the free parking! Thumbs up city of Sacramento! :)

So, I get into the parking garage and then I see Monty without a head! ( He was "getting dressed" saw cars coming and of course I was like -Its monty! Then my car passed him and he was like "Uh.....Hi" ).

The players were living it up, which was great to see. Keys to the city for the Malooofs, keys to an escalade for coach (VW for Coach T! lol) and who knows what special things that they cannot disclose, the Maloofs have for the players.

I wish it lasted longer, but I'll take this any year :D
