Time To Start Shareef.

Way more consistent than Shareef.

I considerate it Broken now.

Disappointing and we are not playing well. But any lineup switch now is very risky. If it doesn't take there is just no time to work it out or switch back.

but what is the risk? Are we going to play worse than we did tonight? I agree that a lineup change can be risky, and I was against it when we were winning even though I think Shareef is the better player of the 2. But, at this point, when we're trying to work our way OUT of the playoffs after working so hard to get there, I think it might be worth the risk.

time to stop jacking up threes

True.

Adelman isn't the kind of coach to tell a player after going 2/10 from 3-point land to tell him to stop shooting 3's for the rest of the game.

Get the shooting touch back at practice and the next game.

Its always an option as Reef > KT, but its just very knee jerk right now -- the desperate flailing of a team in worse trouble than we are. We are slumping. But still slipping by here and there and still with a significant leg up on #8. You make a move, and it doesn't work, lose another game or two, make Kenny unhappy, throw everybody who is struggling to find themselves even further into a loop trying to feel their way wiht the new lineup...even if its only 2 games you lose, that can tip the balance. And there's just no time to reap any long term benefits, because there is no long term. You're hoping to get immediate benefits from a brand new linuep with 10 games to go int eh season. If it works, you look like a genius, but the odds are very much that it does not take quickly enough to help.

its time to start SAR. If you have noticed over the passed few games the kings have been relying on jumpshots and neither brad can hit them or artest. tonight was a example. first quarter the kings dug them self in a big whole but SAR's impact was evident in the 2nd quarter.

In the 3rd quarter the kings once again failed to make shots. once again SAR came in and brought the kings back in the game by posting in and scoring or passing it to Bibby.

Stats of the night:
SAR 16 min 24 pts and 9 rebs
Miller 23 min 5 pts and 6 rebs

There's no reason. If the rest of the squad is struggling and Artest and Bonzi aren't working in the post, then play SAR major minutes off the bench and run the offense through him.

But there's no reason to start him and risk destoying the chemistry. I also think we would have had a better chance at some of those critical rebounds (like that missed free throw) if Kenny was in.

Pass.

?
Reef played 28min.
Miller played 29min.

As an aside, Reef sucked yesterday with 4pts 2rebs. A big game this time out, but its not as if he's been any more consistent than anyone else.

Where is the playmaker when you need him? ;)

I've been reading this forum a lot and i think a lot of what playmaker said was right. the kings are easily shut down when you take away jumpshots. i think everyone got a little excited when the kings won 5 straight games.

actually both kenny and sar were in the game at the same time in the 3rd quarter and most of the 4th quarter.

i wouldnt mind starting sar over brad considering brad hasnt been an impact over the past 2 weeks what so ever. at least sar will score in the post and not allow foyle and kwame have season highs.

Time for Artest to be Artest again. :|

Seriously... What happened to his game? Has he lost too much weight? He said he was down to 217, while his weigh-in has him at 260. Meaning he's lost 43 pounds! Not only that, is he tired? Are all the starters tired? Has that stretch to get into the playoffs tired the starters out? I think one thing people have failed to mention is Kevin Martin. When the Kings were hot, this guy was doing it all. Even though he was injured last game, he had very much faded away into a non-factor on the court. Problem with Reef? He can't REBOUND... And with the round mound of non-rebound Brad Miller, you gotta have someone out there that can grab some boards. And Reef just doesn't get the job done. My favorite line-up? C-Reef PF-KT SF-Artest SG-Cisco PG-Bibby Now I'm not getting down on Brad, he is the key to our offense. And as shown by the last few games, him off equals Kings off...

We don't have a well balanced team, all we like to do is take jumpers. It would be nice to have our best post scocer starting. And do guys noticed that our best and most consistent players all year were bonzi and shareef but now are on our bench (bonzi would have been on the bench if martain was healthy). But we did go on a winning spurt for about 2 weeks when they were on the bench.

Well yes -- primarily because we had never done so with Reef as a starter.

But Reef is basically the 40yr Old Virgin of playoff appearances -- his post game has never gotten a team there before. It might help. But it might also take a strugglign situtiona and add one more chaotic element to it. One more guy needing the ball. And *poof*.

yesterday shareef was in foul trouble, so he didn't play that many mins and didn't have that many shots either. The whole year our most consistent players were sar and bonzi until they got injured and had to play off the bench.

Exactly. I'm not questioning picking up Artest, I love him as a player.

He wanted out of Indiana, becuase they wanted to build their franchise around Jermaine. He comes to Sac Town, and expects that's what he gets.

Is it such a good idea to have Artest the face of this franchise?

i never saw artest as a 1st option in the offense. i always saw him as a great defender.

while i agree with your lineup, and your points, you do realize losing 43 pounds is ridiculous, right? He's down to 255 he said from 271 at weigh in....where did you hear 217?

There is no question that Shareef should start. He's a versatile player and plays on both ends of the court. Whatever his rebounding issues were, they seem to have gone away, so I just do not see a reason why we need to continue to keep our "best basketball player on the team" (please see Rick Adelman interview) on the bench.

I'l also say this: if Bonzi was not tossed, Shareef would have had another average game. Why is that? Because we go to Artest and Bonzi in the post exclusively, consistantly avoiding Shareef. It's one thing to exploit a matchup and expose it, but it's another thing to use it exclusively with semi-good players.

Reef reb/48 05-06: 8.9
Reef reb/48 March: 9.1

They haven't gone away. They are who he is. Professional scorer.

I've learned to appreciate Reef jockers -- no matter how dark things get, they are always good for some comic relief.

As for the playmaker thing: I'm suprised you were not banned for mentioning the unmentionable man. I've had two posts deleted for mentioning his name!!

Don't forget sar's solid D all year, everybody seems too, espeailty on the superstars in the leauge.
