I'll be fine with the #4 seed, especially if Phoenix is #1 and Dallas, LA or Houston is #5.

That said, it sure would be nice to overtake the Suns for the top spot... the only thing I'd like to not see is the Spurs in the second round.

The lakers , they will never be the same agian , sad to say we dont have to worry about them anymore , its all about the suns now and they lost , with Mobley im 100 % sure the Pacific will be ours when end of the season comes..

Now that you mention it, that is a great point. If the Suns keep it up amnd we're number 4 with say Dallas or LA as fifth seed - we're golden and we will have only oursleves to blame if we don't get to WCF.

But then again, whole conference is all weird and wonderfull, what with Shaq in the East and SA cast as "the greatest team with absolutely nothing to write home about" kind of favorite.

On the other hand, if we are #1 seed and Suns are #4 with Dallas #5, that's alos not bad. ;)

You know, Zip? I like the way you think!!!

I would be more proud of Kings if they caught up with Suns when Nash IS playing.
It was the same way when Shaq would have an injured toe or ab muscle...I actually wanted him healthy so we could beat them straight up. What pride do you gain by beating a wounded opponent?? We'd have to listen to 1000 excuses, just like they have to listen to us in times of injuries...hey, just tough it out dammit, and if you lose in the end, so be it, at least you would have the satisfaction of being able to be your best with whatever teamates you had.

Now that PHX has lost 3 in a row it makes you think that the Kings CAN chase them down and win the division. Just less than a week ago the Kings were 7 games behind them in the loss column and now they are only 4 games behind them in the loss column. It's also nice that the Kings beat them once already down there because it could come down to a head to head tiebreaker. By the way, the last game of the season is at Arco against the Suns.

Nevertheless, if the Kings can somehow win the division I believe that the Kings will be the #2 seed behind the Spurs, which is a much better position than being #4 since IMO the Spurs will be #1, which would create a second round matchup against SA. Look...if the Kings win the division they will most likely get the #2 seed, which would set up a secound round matchup, if seeds hold true with the Sonics most likely since they are 7 games up on Minny. Not to say that that would be an easy route to the WC Finals, but there are much tougher roads to travel in the playoffs than playing a #7 seed and then the Sonics in the semifinals, both with homecourt. Then again, who knows what could happen, but those were just my impressions as I looked as the standings this morning.

#2 would be just grand if the oth4er teams come back to us and we can grab it. Only problem with that is I would still be worried about a Wolves matchup, even as awful as they look right now. But since the Wolves are as likely to recover and be a #5 as to continue to struggle and be a #7, I'll take the higher seed iof we can grab it, thanks.

Very true about Minny, but for some reason I think that the West is not as wide open this year as it has been in years past. I really think that in the end the Suns and Sonics will fade and it will leave the Spurs, Kings, and perhaps the Wolves, if they get rolling as the teams to beat. Wheras in years past there were at leat 5 teams that could have won the West.

I wouldn't totally discount the Sonics, they got some great outside shooters. The key to the suns is to shut down Nash which Bibby and Jackson have done well in the past. Minny is stocked w great players and KG gives us hissy fits with his rebounding, but they seem to be imploding right now. I think we can beat the spurs just slow down TD and TP and score consistently as they're not a very good scoring team.

What we need to focus on is getting healthy. I mean, if we work hard for the rest of the season, we're bound to be closer and closer and eventally be the PacDiv Champs again. What we don't want is people wishing injuries on other teams. :(
