Not sure what the rockets were thinking giving out a contract like that to harden. 16 million dollars per year for james harden?! That is LAUGHABLE. Im disgusted.
Sounds about right. I make a comment like that and then Harden goes out and has a game like this. Its a good thing im hungry because im being spoon fed my words. Num num num num!
While I don't diagree at all that the Thunder are counting on going to a more traditional PG/SG split in their reserves with Maynor/Kevin, I would just have to note that being pitiful in assists didn't really seem to damage them too much last year. Their two main studs don't need them, and nobody else ever shoots.

I'm not surprised at all. Harden is very talented, and he gave up a lot of his game, including taking shots for the benefit of the team in Oklahoma. As a result too many people tried to paint him into a one demensional player. Harden is a terrific ballhandler, passer, and shooter. And he can defend the ball. Trust me, he will be one of the leading scorers in the NBA this year now that Houston has unleased him. He only averaged 8.6 shots a game with the Thunder, all while shooting 49% overall from the floor, which is outstanding for a jumpshooter, and 39% from the three. He's also a terrific athlete.
Then he delivered -- to the tune of 37 points, 12 assists, six rebounds, four steals and a block.
Only three other players in the past 25 years have hit those numbers in a single game: Michael Jordan, Larry Bird and Dwyane Wade. And here was Harden doing it just four days after being traded to Houston.
He seems like a tough player to guard unless you face him in practice on a regular basis. He has strange looking coordination and body language which really works to his advantage. Not to mention he seem to be atleast good in each aspect of the game.
