Thoughts on Ron's return to Indiana on Friday (merged)

whos this us u speak of????

while u may feel like he screwed you, that doesnt make it factual...it only makes it ur opinion, which ur totally entitled to... im not sure who else u feel qualified to say such things for....but its hardly an opinion that is shared by all....

As a fan of the Pacers, I believe I speak for the majority of the franchise and fanbase. And frankly, it could be the minority opinion and I'd still be right. Of course that's just my opinion. :p

as a fan of the pacers, i believe u speak for only urself and arent qualified or asked to speak for myself or any other fan, let alone the franchise....:p

maybe if u spent a bit less time trying to speak on others behalf, u might have a bit more time to do other things....u know...like work...school....keeping a website up and running, etc....:p :D

You both are entitled to your opinions and both have equal merit here, on KINGSfans.com Both opinions are interesting, but not to the point where I'd like to see two Pacer fans duking it out on a Kings board over a former Pacer player.

;)

foretaz has always considered himself an "expert" on opinion vs. fact, and who anyone does or does not speak for, so just for him I'll add that I believe I speak for the majority on this topic, because I think they agree with me, not that I formally hold some kind of position to do so on any given topic.

How sad is it that I need to clarify THAT one? :D

And one final thing: When the two men running my team say they feel betrayed by Ron (Donnie Walsh & Larry Bird), I think it's safe to say he screwed us.

I'll let it go at that, this isn't the place for it.

wow, 2 pacers fans having a fight over a Kings player on the Kings board. Can't we just get along and dump on Lakers/pistons just like all other normal people

I personally believe Ron was the one who got shafted in this last deal. He really didn't say anything that wasn't the truth about the Pacers Coach and players.

I still believe we should have traded Carlisle, Jackson, Tinsley and Jo before Ron. But we didn't and you can see how it's working out now. :(

Anyway, Go Pacers and Go Kings. I like to watch them both. :)

with all respects, with their iso offense pacers are quite boring team, hard to watch...and their coach is control freak.....now they have the case where the role player (Jackson) thinks hes superstar (to go guy) and he is taking every single shoot.....btw also, I'm not happy with kings new style but we are winning so no complaining....I wish we play like suns

if this isnt the place for it, then why did u do it???? and continue to do it....3 posts even.....nothing like saying somethings inappropriate after the fact....and continue even after vf appeared to put an end to it....

im a regular contributor on this board, much to piksis chagrin;), i dont just come here once every 2 months to spout bitterness....then have the audacity to say its not the place for it after ive already done it...

seems to me, if ron did screw u, couldnt have happened to a nicer guy....hope ur enjoying...

as for the facts, most polls after the trade were just about split....with a slim majority favoring ron being traded...which is not unexpected....of course, take that poll at the end of the season and it will likely be a different story....thats how these things work...

like i said, and vf has said....we all are entitled to our opinions....now if in ur own little distorted world, u think that u are qualified to speak for the majority, or the minority, well so be it....

u wouldnt be the first one on the internet to type something and think that makes it true....

seriously, there has rarely been a more obvious troll....dont u have enuff to worry about with ur own board, let alone trolling other boards???? i suggest u review ur 3 or 4 posts on this board....u should know a troll by now....u, of all people, should know better...even i thought u were above this....guess i gave u too much credit...

I gotta say: something gives me a strange feeling that Peja won't be having such a pleasant night with Artest on him. I keep thinking of what Bowen and Trenton Hassel have done to him, now only imagine the effect of perhaps the game's best defender will have during his return to Indy!

I prefer the Kings style at this point over the Suns. Why you may ask?? Because, the Kings WERE the Suns back in their championship run. All offense no defense. Now we actually have some defense.

Somebody made a good point earlier in this thread about how Peja asked to be traded a year + ago and we're gonna give him a standing O. I just think Ron reacted publicly to a "closed-door" situation and became the poster child for animosity...whatever.

In Piksi's words, "keep taking those pills"!

so now we are championship contender?.

their offense is their defense. Their style even works without Amare. We are good but notas good as they are at the moment

Theoretically, isn't any team that actually makes it to the playoffs a championship contender by mere definition alone?

;)

My opinion?

He'll do fine.

Everyone gets booed if you are a big enough star. Heck, when Kobe missed that T FT everyone at Arco gave the biggest ovation I have ever witnessed at a game. I was there and my ears were ringing afterward.

I like the new Kings style. The old days were fun, but the playoffs were always disappointing. I really enjoy a squad stuffed with agressive tough guys. I enjoy the cycling of Ron Artest, Kenny Thomas, Bonzi Wells, Rahim Abdur Sharif, and sometimes Corlis Williamson. Who do you want to hit you and take rebounds from you? Which tough guy do you want to take it to the hoop with malice aforethought? Which guy do you want scrambling for loose balls? They just keep coming, and I think it will improve as the season draws to a conclusion. These games remind me of old school Midwest football. Three yards and a cloud of dust!

Unless Peja has one of those rare spectacular nights and throws up a bunch of immaculate threes, we will see tonight precisely why Sacramento got the best of the infamous Indiana trade. If there were ever a grudge game for Ron Artest, this may be the time. Frankly, I think he is too focused and happy to get into any emotional BS. He will simply play well and let his Kings team mates know what they should be doing to help. Look for a well-oiled 1000 horse-power machine tomorrow night. Five yards and a cloud of dust, repeat as necesary.

:p

We did about 4 years ago. We never brought home the trophy so I'll take the new style... see where it lands us.

I like the new style. We have essentially a new team. I'm very glad to see them adapting their game to fit their current players. The results pretty much speak for themselves...

GO KINGS!!!!!

I was going to this game, but it looks like I'll be in Panama City instead.

I'm going to be relying on that Grades thread and the Game Thread here for some information on it. :) And of course PD. Man I really wanted to see it too.

I think Ron screwed us too, fwiw.

Another thing I've wondered - do you think any Indy fan will get crazy and throw a cup at him? I don't think Ron would react, but ya gotta wonder....

I've wondered about that a couple times...

I doubt it because of the Detroit fans, and how that whole deal effected the Pacers. I don't think Ron would react badly, either.

Yeah, Ron generally doesn't do the same thing twice.... he's creative :D

I don't think they would either, we were all too mad at the original cup thrower.

There's always a prankster in the crowd though...

Should sell drinks in those clear plastic wrappers (thicker and stronger though) that are used for flavored freeze sticks.

Wow, I can definately imagine how it feel for one person out of a billion (exaggerating) to throw a cup that will ruin all the rest of your early season.

There are four guys on the Kings squad capable and undoubtedly willing to accept great bodily harm in their effort to drag Ron off the court should something ugly happen. First off, Ron won't respond to anything! If he pops a capillary or something, my man Corliss Williamson will intercede and hold down the beast from NYC until Bonzi, Rahim, and Kenny can offer some help. Brad, of course, will be standing there flat-footed, slack-jawed, staring up at the 24-second clock, if a brawl breaks out.

;)

i bet he gets booed
i bet he has a lot of energy, something to prove to the fans and the pacers managment
i bet he takes peja out of his game

and i sure hope the kings win! we need to win every game we possibly can from here on out!

GO KINGS!!!!!!!!!!! dazzle em ron!

After he's traded, Larry Bird, "I felt betrayed."

Jermaine O'Neal says "I won't play with him again."

Now tonight:

Ron Artest gets introduced: Chorus of boos from the fans.

Ron Artest first touches the ball: Chorus of boos from the fans.

Every single time Ron touched the ball after that during the game: Chrous of boos from the fans.

Clearly I didn't know what I was talking about when I said I felt I spoke for most Pacers fans.
