Postgame from Westy:
“I like what Jimmer and IT brought to the team tonight, I think thats a combo we will use to start tomorrows game”

WTH? I'm speechless.

If true, my guess is he's dealing with a player revolt of sorts, led by our three cornerstone players.

Yeah and let other teams have 40 pt quarters on us. What a clown! He better be joking

This guy is pathetic. He has no coaching ability and rather than trying to make things work with his REAL STARTERS, he's going with bench players so he can try and direct the blame for horrible play elsewhere. Man, this dude is a horrible coach. Where is Theus?

He's pretty much just firing himself. I can only assume this is not so much stupidity as it is a reaction against what he sees as a teamwide revolt. But its the sort of thing that unless he has pictures of the Maloofs partying with a bunch of underage sheep is going to get him a little "come up and see me in my office" postit on his door when the team returns to town.

If his situation in Seattle is any indication, Westphal tends to nosedive hard. Figures he's going down, might as well make it spectacular!

Starting the guards who run our offense the best doesn't make any sense. Agreed.

I actually don't recall him saying that. I heard him say that they looked good out there on offense but they need to overcome there size disadvantage on defense if they want to play on the court together in the future. I could be wrong though.

The Kings are already one of the worst teams in the league at points allowed per game. In fact, after tonight they might be dead last, I haven't checked yet.

Why not give it a shot? If it fails, move back to Reke/Thornton and pray that they hit all of their 360-behind the back double reverse jumpshots.

Until then... we're 2-4. Might as well try starting the players who have shown some competency in running an NBA offense. It's just one game... it worked well agains the Lakers, it could work well again.

We already know you prefer this result to the NO result. So why would I be surprised you thought those two running our offense tonight looked better than what Reke/Thornton did in the 2nd half vs NO?

Are you going to refer to the 2nd half of that game every day for the rest of the season? For crying out loud, their stats weren't even that good that game. So for once they had some decent productivity out of their dozens of shots... one game!

And ONE GAME is all that the next game is. Give it a shot, it could work. Reke and Thornton are not playing NBA caliber basketball right now. When Jimmer and IT played together in this game and the Lakers game, it worked. Why not give it a shot?

This team is 2-4, they are not good. Reke and Thornton are not that good. You are acting like we are benching James and Wade... this is nothing even remotely comparable. Thornton would already be sitting on the bench on most NBA teams.

Were 6th worst. Stats mean nothing at this point. According to team stats we have the best opponent 3pt% in the league, meaning were the best 3pt defenders. Thanks NOH!

I listened to Westphals postgame interview and I think the quote is not accurate at the end. OP has it: "I like what Jimmer and IT brought to the team tonight, I think thats a combo we will use to start tomorrows game.” What I heard was and will confirm with a rebroadcast of game on now went more like this: "I like what Jimmer and IT brought to the team tonight, I think thats a combo we'll see more."

Get out of here. You're not a fan of this team, clearly.
So you, being a fan of the team, want to win, i'm assuming? If that is the case, it is of my opinion that Jimmer starting is a no-brainer. If you want to do poorly and expect Jimmer to win the game off the bench, which is impossible after what the starting lineup does, so be it. Jimmer starting and playing a majority of the game is a good thing if you want to win.

I agree with you. This will not only lead to the main players not wanting to play for the coach, reinforce the idea with the supporting cast they should support the main guys but also give a big middle finger to the Front Office. Why coach and try to make it work with the better players when you can have for the 3rd straight season a starting line-up carousel. Why coach when you can try to sub players in on any given night and hope to find something that works?

No, screw letting players get used to a starting lineup and get chemistry.
