I don't think the Kings will be a contender next year. I think they will be a solid 5 or 6 seed. But who really knows at this point? It's a long offseason.
This time next year we will be entering the playoffs as a 7 seed, with a new coach and KG We will have given up some strong players to get KG so thats why I suspect a 7th seed.
Trade Brad, he's completely useless, sign a few decent big men who can play D and rebound, get rid of KT and sign a decent rebounding PF to complement Shareef. If Petrie can follow along those lines I think this team can win the Pacific and be a contender.
What experience this team has gained from this series! Suns or no Suns this was the best thing that could have happened to this team. It exposed every point where this team needs to improve. It also showed that this team, even with significant interior defense problems could compete with the WORLD CHAMPS!
That right there is priceless. This team, with experience and improvement with personnel has the chance to be a certified CONTENDER! No questions whatsoever.
We'll see. I'm looking forward to this offseason, as much as I didn't want the season to end. This isn't the ultimate product Petrie wants out there, and hopefully we'll make some key moves that pay off.
As long as Ron Artest is on our team, I think we will be in the playoffs. How high of a seed depends on what we surround him with.
This time next year, the NBA will hand over the championship to the Kings after the regular season from our dominance. Teams will cowar in fear, especially after they find out we cloned Wells and Artest.
