My birthday was yesterday. As Bill and Ted would say, "69 dude!".
The Rochester Royals won the franchise's only championship in April 1951. They won the west by beating the (Fort Wayne) Pistons and then the (Minneapolis) Lakers. They won the first 3 games against the Knicks but the Knicks won the next 3 to force a game 7. It wasn't easy.
I was born in September, so I'm 69 and it hasn't happened in my lifetime. Only a masochist would go into a season expecting them to win it all. For a small-market franchise, everything has to fall perfectly to have a chance. Our year was 2002, and we all know what happened. My hope for every season is that they get better.
