i like SVG too, but i don't know if he would be the right guy to help develop theis team right now to go up a level. if he were around to coach in 2 to 3 years when we're on the upswing of the rebuild, i'd be all for him.

This is a coach's market, not a team market. And for that reason, we have very little to offer someone like Stan Van Gundy. From what I've been reading at the Pacer boards, it seems very likely - as Unclebuck pointed out - that SVG will sign with the Pacers, and I can't blame him at all. It should actually be a pretty good fit.

In all honesty, I'm not that sold on SVG. I think there are several options out there who could end up being very good for us - and not just in the short term. Petrie is the only one who knows the vision he has for the team so it really has to be his decision on whom he think will best help him accomplish those goals.

I'm still optimistic. This is a chance for new hope. And it's a lot more fun than contemplating a second year under Musselman.
