The Kings come home after another road trip to hell. Being on the road is bad enough; being on the road and losing is worse. Being on the road and losing AND hearing about conflict between the players and the new coach is worse still.
We hope Reggie can find a way to balance discipline and praise. You cannot expect the impossible about of this team and going ballistic at this early juncture is not the way to win the respect of the guys you are supposed to coach. It has to be the coach AND the team against the NBA; not the coach against the team. A good rule to follow is to praise publicly and criticize privately.
The Kings get ready to face the New York Knicks, who are even more of a train wreck than the Kings. Whether or not the Kings can win will depend in large part on the fans. They need us and hopefully they can forget about the heated words of Wednesday night.
The game discussion thread is here.
The PBP thread is here.
Bricklayer's grade thread will be posted after the game.
One thing to look forward to is the return of Justin Williams. He can and I'm sure will bring a spark back into the team. I stand by my comment - as long as I see heart and hustle, energy and excitement will follow. I just hope Reggie realizes being too strict a disciplinarian at first can turn the whole team against him. We saw what happened when Musselman did it; we do not need a rerun of that scenario.
GO KINGS!!!
