The Wrath of Kahn?

The crew of the Enterprise might not be the only ones facing the return of Khan this summer.
Former NBA executive David Kahn was spotted at Sacramento's Long Live the Kings rally last night. Adding to the intrigue, Kahn, who most recently served as general manager for the Minnesota Timberwolves, is exactly the sort of smart, brains over brawn executive that new Kings owner Vivek Ranadive is rumored to favor.
As longtime Kings general manager Geoff Petrie's own reputation for brilliance has begun to tarnish in recent years, Kahn has often been there to take advantage. When Petrie chose brawn over brains and passed on spanish sensation Ricky Rubio, Kahn quickly snapped up the sultry Spaniard. When longtime Kings coach Rick Adelman was let go, it was eventually Kahn who would convince Adelman to join the Timberwolves to babysit another high maintenance and injury prone frontcourt star in Kevin Love. When Petrie whiffed on attempts to sign Andrei Kirlienko, it was Kahn who eventually convinced the former Jazz defensive stopper to return to the NBA.
Now here Kahn was, dapper as always, basking in the Sacramento sun while soaking up the passion of a Kings fanbase back from the abyss. Tanned and trim at 51, Kahn's appeal has never been in his rippling muscles, but rather in his ready wit and ingenious intellect, traits that have only been emphasized as his high intelligent forehead has gradually lengthened.
When approached, he gave a sly knowing smile that will do little to calm speculation about his possible future as Kahn of the Kings.
