Interesting article about the 8th seed and the teams behind the Blazers. Kings were ranked 5th most likely out of 7 teams to take the 8th spot from them. Not saying I agree with everything in the article, but is an interesting read.

"5. Sacramento
The Kings are 10–17, and could win half of their remaining games and still have a chance at the playoffs. Whether they do it or not probably depends a lot on whatever you think about DeMarcus Cousins. Boogie is an enigma, both on and off the court at this point. He can be absolutely dominant at times, but just as often, it looks like Sacramento needs to move on and start over. Cousins and Rudy Gay are the Kings’ best two players, and both have been in trade rumors for months.
The Kings do have the most remaining home games of any team in the NBA, with 33 of their final 55 at home, where they’ve gone 5–6 so far. That leaves some margin of hope, but there’s not a lot developing in Sacramento. Of seven guys playing over 20 minutes a game, Cousins is the only one on the team that is under 29 years old. In other words, these Kings will likely only wear down and get even worse as the season moves forward."
