The Turning of the Schedule: Why we Need to Just Hang On

#31
I've stopped trying to hope, or trying to figure anything out Brick.

They simply have to start winning or I'm gone fishing.

When we had a bunch of youth/kids to develop I had lots of patience.

Not now.

Let them get maybe 3 games under 500 or make a major deal or else meh.

No. Just no. The stupidest thing this board ever was subjected to was the concept of "lins".
I was being snarky. If our FO was competent enough at drafting if consider it, but no matter where we pick, we always blow it. So who cares.

I'm still wanting a W every time I tune in.

Lins got us Demarcus Cousins. Unless you feel you can build a winner around Cousins, lins will be needed.
That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying the terms "lins" and "wosses".

And, for the record, I definitely believe in Demarcus Cousins being the cornerstone for any future greatness the Kings may achieve.

There are pluses if you look hard enough.

1. We're not in Seattle.
2. Our arena is drawing performers and events beyond our wildest expectations.
3. We have finally got a coach who reminds me more of a real NBA coach than a circus clown.
4. Our coach supports our franchise center who, warts and all, is progressing in the right direction.
5. Most of our losses have not been the result of a total crapfest.

I know it's easy to get discouraged. I've been a fan of the NBA for an eternity and the Kings since 1985. If the Kings hadn't had those couple of seasons in the sun, I wouldn't be disappointed because I wouldn't have expectations. But I look at it this way - look at the Cubs fans. All things come to those who wait.

I believe Bricklayer is right when he says we are close to turning things around. It's always darkest before the dawn...and other platitudes go here.

Hang in there.
In an ideal world, you would want to see at least ONE championship in over a century unless some of us plan on living over 100

There's no such thing as an ideal world.

To be honest, I can live without seeing a championship. What I truly miss is seeing good basketball played by a group of young men who actually love the game and respect it, themselves and each other.

Fair enough. I hope for your sake and everybody else, we maybe one day get to see moves made with a purpose and direction and having the right players on the roster that are not selfish, lazy, lackadaisical, fundamentally unfit, etc etc etc. No more patches for this giant hole in our hearts, it's time for surgery.

Interesting article about the 8th seed and the teams behind the Blazers. Kings were ranked 5th most likely out of 7 teams to take the 8th spot from them. Not saying I agree with everything in the article, but is an interesting read.

"5. Sacramento
The Kings are 10–17, and could win half of their remaining games and still have a chance at the playoffs. Whether they do it or not probably depends a lot on whatever you think about DeMarcus Cousins. Boogie is an enigma, both on and off the court at this point. He can be absolutely dominant at times, but just as often, it looks like Sacramento needs to move on and start over. Cousins and Rudy Gay are the Kings’ best two players, and both have been in trade rumors for months.
The Kings do have the most remaining home games of any team in the NBA, with 33 of their final 55 at home, where they’ve gone 5–6 so far. That leaves some margin of hope, but there’s not a lot developing in Sacramento. Of seven guys playing over 20 minutes a game, Cousins is the only one on the team that is under 29 years old. In other words, these Kings will likely only wear down and get even worse as the season moves forward."

Actually, I'd argue that that 25-win team that got us the Boogie draft pick actually overachieved. Reke had a historic year which really helped but, at the same time, we traded our second best player (K-Mart) for Carl Landry, our big man rotation for most of the season was Soggy Waffles/JT/Jon effin' Brockman, and Paul Westphal was the coach. You can actually argue that that team also deserved the 1st overall pick
