The prayer petrie suprises us

We are in the position to trade.
For what, only his professional mind does.
Talks of allen and amare I have seen but let's be realistic, we won't keep neither of them.
I know we should trade Martin but it won't happen. Should we accept the facte no trades will happen, a few days before the deadline. I think so. Welcome armstrong as the greatest trade for the kings this year

Shouldnt Petrie at all costs trade at least two of our stacked sg/sf position players (some who may be untouchable while others who have trade value). Also add that with KT's expiring their is no reason to not get a servicable big. Perferably a defensive one.

We currently have seven players Westphaul plays at the sg/sf positions. With Sisco returning make that eight players. Not to mention he plays Tyreke and Beno together at times which I'm not saying is bad but it just adds for others getting even less playing time. If you want to go further than that I didnt even count Sergio. If he gets playing time that makes nine players that are getting playing time leaving some players who deserve or need to be on the floor sitting on the bench.

Making a trade for the sake of trading is never a good idea plus there are no defensive "bigs" out there that can help the Kings. Hawes, JT and May are it for now. But they are all stepping up their games, albeit slowly. Armstrong has been in street clothes last 2-3 games so he is non-player for now.

With a 9 or 10 man rotation maybe the Kings can tire out the competition by running them and out-hustling them. Nope. IMHO no big trades in next week for Kings. K9 for Murphy is not big trade. It is some help for an expiring. My guess (crystal ball a bit foggy this morning) is trading a SF for a 1st round pick maybe. But thats about it.

There is an obvious need. Interior defense. If there is a trade then it should be to fill that need. My approach would be one of two things. A temporay fill in while at the same time possibly dumping salary. Or a young player that might help fill that need long term. Someone like Thomas from Chicago would be the young player for the long term. I'm not a big fan of his, but if the price was cheap he would be worth a look for the rest of the season. I say this with reluctance..

My feeling is that Petrie will do something. But I don't think it will be a big major move with a lot of money attached. Even Murphy, who has been rumored to be involved in talks, is really a short term deal. His contract ends after next season. Not sure I see why we would deal for Murphy, since he's not known for his defense. He's a decent scorer and rebounder, but thats about it. He wouldn't hurt us, and would at least give us another big body to put on the floor, but wouldn't address our need.

So I'll be shocked if we get involved in some blockbuster deal. It would have to be an an absolute no brainer. Petrie is very conservative and seldom takes risks. Sometimes I think its Paralysis by Analysis. But he is who he is.

There are no D-bigs availabe? dam I thought we couldve picked up someone how alot of people were saying KT's expiring and Nocioni being a nice pick up for a contending team were valuable trading peices for us. And even talks of Kevin being tradeable. I guess making trades is harder than I thought. It seems everybody wants a high priced big or nothing. An average defending big who actually gets playing time is just as good IMO. Instead of trading for Murphy wouldnt T. Chandler be better. Doesnt he have the same contract as Murphy at least we'd be getting a defensive player who is in his prime (and no he is not injured he returned a few days ago the last I checked). There is still 1/3 of a season left and we have an opportunity to improve our interior defense that could be the difference from winning a handful of games to possibly playing .500 ball the rest of the season. Im not saying we have to win now and jeapordize our franchise for one player but a small trade for an average D-big will do.

I'm hoping to start posting here more - wanted to say... statements like this are too easy to just throw out there. There are a lot of "aw man if we could only fill this one position of need we would be set" type of statements, but who specifically were you thinking? I know there has been PLENTY of discussion on who would make this team better and which player we should get, but I think "there's no reason we can't <insert arbitrary statement about what we should do>" type statements don't serve any real purpose.

btw, I'm not trying to pick a fight with any one particular statement or poster, this just happened to be the one to spur my response.
